Just like all these travel SIM cards, READ THE DIRECTIONS AND THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS. Reviews like Ruthies are ridiculous because the description clearly says no-tethering/hotspot, and its a DATA only SIM. So it is irrelevant where the phone number is based because you dont use it.We bought this for Guatemala, put it in our phones in the US a day or 2 before we left to let it activate. Then took it out until we landed in Guatemala city where we re-inserted it. Worked perfect for us for 2 weeks in Guatemala. Whether your get 3G or 4G depends on where you are and what the provider is in the country you are in, not the SIM card. We got 4G in Guatemala 90% of our time there, 3G when we were in more remote areas.Use your brain and you'll be good to go :)

This was supposed to be a Central American card, yet it gave me a UK number. Yes, I get that it's a UK company, but it is a Central American specific card. Definitely made us rely more of finding wifi than we would have liked.Also, set up was a mess. There were about 6 different places I needed to go to get the app activated.Hot spot was a joke. You can't go to any websites unless you enter credit card information to verify your age to make sure you aren't viewing adult content. Complete scam.

Fast setup, good service, very inexpensive. I will definitely get another before my next trip to Costa Rica.

Simple setup. Did it a few days before departure in the USA. Not sure what Ruthie's review is talking about an "app" to set it up. Nowhere in the directions did it mention this and all I needed to do was put the SIM card into my phone and it did its thing.Read the directions and realize this is a data only SIM (you won't use the phone number assigned to this card). We used WhatsApp and FaceTime video/or audio to call family/friends, and almost everyone down there has WhatsApp as well if you want to call or text businesses.Service was good in El Paredon, Lago di Atitlan, and Antigua (all in Guatemala). Great SIM and value for the money. Barely used 3GB. Know what you're buying and don't leave bad reviews when you buy the wrong thing...

Perfect for traveling to Panama. Easy to test prior to going. There was a problem with my friends iPhone but my Android and a newer iPhone worked flawlessly.
