Obagi Medical Nu-Derm Clear Fx - Skin Brightening and Evening Cream with Arbutin, Vitamin C, and Lactic Acid

I used the old Obaji Clear with hydroquinone for years. It worked almost miraculously within 12 weeks to lighten every tiny spot and freckle on my skin. But after using it over a longer period of time, I noticed my skin was becoming more fragile. I was having broken capillaries appear, and I read that Clear could thin your skin out, as well as causing concerns about cancer. So I stopped using it and over time I wished I had something to replace it. Now Obaji Clear is made with ingredients that have all the benefits of the spot lightener hydroquinone, but without the side effects. The only drawback is that it takes longer to work. I fully expect to stay in this for the long haul, though, as I see a visible difference in my skin after just two months. Not as fast or as miraculous - so far - as the old Clear, but way good enough to keep going. UPDATE: It has been another 2 months of using Clear once a day, at night, under my moisturizer. I put the Clear on my freshly washed and thoroughly dried face, then let it sit for about 5 or 10 minutes, then apply my moisturizer. The improvement in my skin is obvious now, and I expect by the six-month-mark I will be very, very glad I stuck with it. UPDATE February 2019: Just checking back in with an almost-two-year report. I have used the Clear FX once a day before my night moisturizer for about eighteen months at this point. I am very happy with the long term results of use. I don't see any evidence that it does any harm to my skin, as the original with hydroquinone did after long use, and it has evened out my skin tone and faded everything that needed to fade out (freckles and discolorations and dark spots). I will continue to use this product as long as it is available because it works!

This is NOT a fake Obagi product. It’s just an OTC version that doesn’t have hydroquinone. It has arbutin, which helps with hyperpigmentation but just not as strong as hydroquinone. You need prescription to get the Rx version. So I don’t understand why people expects to get the Rx version from Amazon and when they realize that this is not the Rx version, they call it a fake. I have mild hyperpigmentation which is why I prefer using the Fx version instead. I’m also using tretinoin cream so I try not to add other strong actives to my routine. This product works well for me. It helps with post-inflammatory pigmentation without causing irritation.

Been and Obagi user since 2004..... consult dermatologist first, when you start regimen. Results are so rewarding, you will be proud of your skin.

This product I originally bought from a plastic surgeon. It works so well. Only use a tiny drop when using it. It will take your brown spots off and make your skin smooth.

I've been buying Obagi products for years. I loved them. The way my skin looked after a few months of using them gave me a smooth appearance and it was great at lightening my brown spots. I bought this product when I saw the price. i thought wow, what a deal. I got the product within a few days and started the treatment that night. I noticed immediately that something was different . I used it daily as recommended and didn't notice a difference. Finally , I read the ingredients in back of the package and BINGO!! sure enough, it was missing the most important ingredient that I loved about this obagi product. I also did my research and found out that Dr. Obagi sold his obagi line years ago. That would explain why I didn't see any results on my face after 2 weeks of using it. Bummer, because this product was the best in the market. I did however learn that Dr. Obagi had a new product line, so I bought those and have immediately seen a difference. It might work for you but not for me.
