Permatex 81158 Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant, 3 oz. Tube, Pack of 1

This is my goto product for installing carbon fiber spoilers, wings or other performance accessories. I add it to the bottom a spoiler in addition to the double face tape. It’s not over kill and will confidently adhere a performance part that may be under stress like a wing or function spoiler. It will fill in any spaces or gaps between parts leaving a perfect custom look. Easy clean up as well. It also works around GPS shark-fin antennas to seal out any water intrusion. Ie BMW shark fins on roof.

I have to give this one a little more credit then it should. I was in a hurry to attach a "back plate" from the front of my 2020 GMC Yukon Denali because I was replacing it with a LED illuminated one which is flat. Problem was the emblem is what holds the back plate on, no glue, just 5 clips. So I needed something fast, 2 hour delivery. I admit I bought in haste and realized later on that this particular "Adhesive" isn't the strongest for the task, well, after all said and done and a full week of curing it was time for the test. Yes, I went through the carwash. Keep in mind the back plate is about an inch or so thick, but what actually touches the grill is the outline of the design for the emblem itself leaving about 1/8 of an inch edge at best. It was pain staking to put only just enough all the way around the whole plate without putting too much on. After the carwash I was extremely nervous when the big rotating rough front brush came down and scrubbed the front, i was praying the whole time. As soon as i got out of the wash, i jumped out to see if there was either nothing there, or possibly maybe a broken emblem hanging. Well, not only was it in tact, I pulled on it with both hands with just enough force as to not try to break the bond, but see if it still had held on firmly, and it most certainly did.. I seriously have to say this stuff is amazing.

Glad I got this size. Tube is larger than expected which is good. Stopped all leaks immediately and has held up for quite some time. Spreads consistently and looks like it was from the factory. Works great.

I read the comments first before purchasing and they were not lying ! So my weather strip on my car both driver side and passenger door start peeling off. I should have made a video so yall can see that this stuff actually works ! Last night it rained and I applied this product before it rained. And guess what I came out side to look inside my car to see if rain got in there ! And yall no rain made it inside my car ! Not even a single drop ! The tackiness is 10/10 ! Yes it’s heat resistant and a cheap fix for fixing your door seals. Now make sure y’all before when squeezing the product out because it can be a little messy , if you’re not careful. But other than that 10/10 so glad I brought this ! No odor smell to it at all and dries fast.

I used this product on my Harley Davidson, Derby, cover, and inspection cover on my outer primary. And so far no leaks. Very satisfied with the overall product.

I buy this tube type as a go-to product and won't ever buy the type with the screw-over clear plastic cover. The latter always lets the silicone set up in the nozzle which ruins the tube unless you punch a hole in it and make a huge mess trying to squirt the unset silicone out of the hole.This style cap (simple toothpaste type cap) seems to keep the silicone intact as long as the cap doesn't fail (I've had some caps which break and then the silicone in the neck of the tube sets up just like the other style cap issue). Permatex is good quality silicone and I've never received a bad tube. I use several colors of silicone and this black is a good shiny black when set. Like any good quality silicone, it's durable, waterproof, heat resistant, and sticks to many things well.

The product is great at gluing plastic to anything but this method isn't ideal as the silicon is so thick one needs a gun to eject the silicone. It's almost impossible to get out of the tubes with your hands. Buy this product but in the size that fits in a caulk gun so you have enough pressure to effectively apply the wonderful product.

I used this to seal around a set of aftermarket rear brake lights after my original ones let water in and ended up getting damaged. Applied a clean bead around the edges and let it cure for the full 24 hours. The day after, we had heavy rain and so far it's holding up great - no leaks and the seal feels strong.It used just over half the tube for both lights, so if you're planning a bigger job or sealing more than one area, I'd definitely recommend picking up two tubes just in case.Will update if anything changes, but so far this stuff is doing exactly what I needed.

グリルマーカーを付けるためにグリルに穴あけをして裏側の配線ごと接着、防水シーリングとして使用。一晩放置で完全に固まって3ヶ月経ってもグラ付きは無いです。効果は文句無し。ただチューブ製なので作業しているとやがて手が真っ黒になって洗い落とすのが大変になるので手袋が必須です。

No es exageración. Un apretón (de acuerdo a las instrucciones y si no puedes ver algún video tutorial por si dudas de cómo aplicarlo, yo dudé) y comienza la magia. Es un polvito negro muy fino por lo que guantes o una limpieza de manos a conciencia es recomendable.Las chapas y cerraduras con problemas de que la llave no entra a la primera, se debe aplicar fuerza o rechina simplemente comienzan a desaparecer al paso de la primer aplicación. Yo juegué un poco con las llaves (meter, sacar, meter, sacar, girar) un par de veces para que el polvo comience a esparcirse. EXCELENTE AHORA! Con el paso de los días (creo porque se va distribuyendo mejor) su funcionamiento se vuelve mejor.Sigan las instrucciones y contraindicaciones ya que parece un artículo fácil pero requiere de su atención. Volveré a comprar sin dudarlo. Lo combiné con un lubricante de litio que también compré en Amazon y la verdad hasta gusto me da abrir mis puertas!
