Really happy with the Zampa portable kennel / playpen. I purchased this for my 19-year-old schnauzer who has canine dementia and is prone to wandering, confusion, and incontinence. It is perfect to keep her comfortably contained while I am working and can't supervise her constantly. She is about 19 lb and the 36x36x24 inch small size is perfect for her. She has plenty of room to stretch out plus room for her food bowl and a water bottle as well. The bottom is made of a good quality waterproof material to protect the underlying floor and I cover it with a waterproof pad (also purchased from Amazon) which is very soft and it makes it a comfortable space for her to relax while I'm working. The compact size makes it perfect for use indoors as it doesn't take up space and fits nicely in the corner of the living room. Two zippered mesh doors for versatility. Our cat must like it too because I find her in there from time to time. Overall, this is a very well made playpen. The pop-up style made it really easy to set up in less than a minute with absolutely no effort. I don't use the mesh top but I can see where it would be helpful if using outdoors. I like that it comes with a carrying /storage bag and stakes for outdoor use. Highly recommend this product.

This pet playpen is fantastic. It was really, really easy to set up and take down. It actually fits easily back into the carrying bag unlike some items that once you unfold them from the factory you can never get them back into the bag. Its very sturdy and well made but extremely light and folds down really flat. I could easily put it in a suit case if I were to fly. I will be using this when staying in a hotel room with my 2 Pomeranian's so they will have plenty of room to play with space left over for their beds, food and water as opposed to having two small heavy kennels that they only have room to sleep in. Most hotels require your pets be contained in something when you are out of the room. It has a door on either side that zip closed or can be left open using the Velcro tabs. I left it set up so they could get used to it and they went in and out on their own plus took a nap inside. The larger of my dogs could jump out of this if he wanted to so I love the mesh net that you can zip onto the top. If you have an active puppy or dog I could easily see how they could turn this into a big "hamster wheel" so I would suggest putting something inside to weigh it down if that is the case with your dog. The sides are pretty tall and it would be difficult for it to be tipped over without any weight in it but an active/bored dog can do a lot of things. lol There is plenty of ventilation all the way around and even a couple of pockets on the outside. Zampa thought of everything. I am very happy with my purchase.

* folding instructions at the bottomI love this already! I got an extra small for my puppy, he is about 3 lb and 7.5 weeks. I don't anticipate him outgrowing it. I wanted it on the smaller side, because I wanted to use it as an alternative to a crate. So glad I chose it!Durability:He's a small dog so I don't know about large dogs, but the fabric of the mesh and walls are strong, I was surprised. He's more likely to hurt his nails than tear through it. He tried to slam his face into it first night, so I was actually happy it was softer, so it didn't hurt him.Portability:It's excellent. He can fall asleep in it in the family room and with him still sleeping, I can lift it into the bedroom, so he's there when he wakes up. Not something you can do with a metal crate.Folding:Unfolding was easy. Folding was a challenge. The instructions don't make sense. It took me 45 minutes to figure it out. BUT then I realized the pictures have faint arrows on them in green. I drew over them in dark marker. Following those arrows help a lot.Better instructions to go with the pictures:* As you go through the steps the floor will get bunched up in the folds, push the floor out the bottom so it doesn't get tangled during folding process.1. Remove mesh top.2. Label the panels like a clock with panel 1 being at the top of the photograph and panel 4 being the door.3. Locate the hanging band between panels 6 & 7. This band needs to stay on the outside.4. Pop in the adjacent pole to the right of the band (between panel 5 &6).5. Fold panel 6 into panel 7 (far left corner). Bunch it so it lays flat.6. Pop in the pole between panels 8 and 1. Top left corner. Similarly, bunch panels 8 and 1 together so they lay flat.7. You will be left with a square made up of panels 2, 3, 4. Pop in the pole between panels 3 and 4.8. Fold panel 3 over panel 4, so that the Zampa logo is not showing. All panels should be pressed flat together. (Do not force any folds, you may stretch the metal wiring inside.)9. If it doesn't lay flat, the floor may be caught between the folds. Repeat instructions while making sure to push the floor out the bottom so it hangs loose.10. After the panels lays flat together, fold the floor over the top and wrap with band.11. Ready for carry case!Hope this helps! Don't not buy it, because you are worried about the folding issue. You will figure it out!

Portability is the number one reason I purchased this containment system. I had considered those folding metal panels but weight and portability was paramount. In my application. It works well will the topper zipped on. I found the sides collapse pretty easily under the strain of the weight of my dogs if they try to standup on the sides. With the top on it’s not a problem. Love that it as a full, bath tub floor, it’s light weight and easy to move around when shade is needed. Folding up is a challenge. Doesn’t really fold as flat as you think it should. The last fold in the demonstration video is lacking that little bit of information. Most places require dogs to be on a leash and three on a run (what if there’s no trees to set it up) is impossible. I like that my pups stay clean and safe inside the enclosure and are able to stand and move about with ease and insects are deterred by the mesh and flooring . The 42” is the size I got it’s perfect. Couldn’t be happier.

The play pen is easy to assemble and transport, I love the carrying case it comes with! The playpen works perfectly, and gives my puppy lots of room to play when I have to leave the room or cannot watch her as closely as I would like. As my puppy is currently teething, I was a little worried that she might tear a whole in the netting on the sides, but it would appear that the netting is extremely well constructed, as it remains unharmed. Overall, I have found that the play pen is quite durable and in one case where it was necessary, it was very easy to clean. I would definitely recommend, and I feel it is worth every penny.

This is a thing of beauty!! And the large is HUGE! Many years ago, I had ordered the medium sized version and it served as a weekend playpen for my hedgehog and had been a wonderful camping and backyard lounging area for my two skinny pigs. This larger size will literally blow their little minds! Haha. I recommend keeping the folding instructions inside the carry bag so you’re never in doubt. The mesh top zip off is wonderful to allow sunshine and air flow in. The zip up doors and camping stakes make it a truly durable camping accessory for small critters and the canvas bottom is easy to clean up. In the medium sized we had, the bottom was zip off, which had pro’s and cons. With a hedgie, they tend to hug walls to get around s which meant peeing and pooping which then translates to rusted out zipper. This large size is built in so in one aspect, I won’t miss it. However, the zip off did make it easy to detach and hose down. That is truly the only little drawback I would say. We will be using it for an 8 week old pug very shortly and I am prepared for some of the mesh windows to be ripped. It’s just the reality of having an animal with claws!
