The product works as advertised.
This thing is an awesome product. I purchased this item roughly a year ago for my wife, and she loves it ! She has opened all different sizes with absolutely no problems. I don't try to open cans with pull tabs, why would I do that when I can pull the tab? The only issue that could possibly confuse anyone is that when the can opener finishes, it backs up a tad as it disengages from the opening process and so you can then lift it off. Now, it cuts the can so precise that it looks as though it has done nothing until you lift the cans edge in an upward motion and realize the cans lid lifts off and it can be placed back on the can for storage.

Excellent Handicapped Access to Food - Single Hand or Arthritis
We bought this for a person with a paralyzed arm who needs a one handed solution to opening cans. We love it. It misses the fifth star by being quirky about getting the correct angle to get the cutter to perform (not flat on top of the can lid but inclined). It takes some learning to get the angle and start just right but after a few tries that becomes less puzzling and more reliable. Not infrequently we have to run it around a second time and sometimes it worked correctly the first time but the lid needed a prod to actually come off. Those drawbacks noted it stores nicely in a drawer (no clunky counter top plug in appliance). The lids can be reused to keep unused contents in the can in the refrigerator. The two handed family member prefers it to using arthritic hands on the old manual one. Cans vary in how they are capped so we don't have a 100% use on every can - only rarely is a can not openable with the machine. Well worth the money and a little practice. Also, the grandkids are fascinated by it.

Not happy with this product at all
Had problems from the beginning, worked ok for a while then major problem. Starts, ratchets around about 1/8-1/4 inch then stops and will not go any further, just grinds in one spot.I had another one ... a "as seen on TV" product....and it worked for - 7 years-! All one needed to do was change batteries! Unfortunately after that very satisfactory amount of time, it stopped working completely. Not happy with this product at all!

Great for older people with arthritic hands!
This is the best can opener! I gave these as Christmas gifts to my Mom, daughter, and son. They all love it. I LOVE that it opens the can at the top seam, and which means there are no sharp edges to cut your fingers. You can also put the top back on if you need to save part of the contents. It was an excellent gift and very easy to use. My 89 year old Mom has no trouble using this one with her arthritic hands!

I love this can opener....but
My osteoarthritis makes it too painful to use a hand operated can opener any more. I have never liked the counter top electric can openers. I saw a similar one of these at someone's home and decided I needed one. I did a lot of reading of reviews and learned generally these probably won't hold up well but they do what they are meant to do in the meantime and this brand seemed to have the best reviews for operation and longevity, I bought the extended warranty to be on the safe side, which is a rarity for me. I've used this several times and I love it. Set it on the can, push the button and away it goes. It may have to go around the can more than once so just leave it alone until it comes to a halt. Then grab it and lift the front end first and the can lid will lift off with the magnet--most of the time--there seems to be a bit of an art to that part. The can lid is cut off in such a way you can place it back on the can and it seals for storage in the fridge. I really loved using it. It did begin to malfunction after a little over a year but kept working for a few more months then I used the insurance policy to obtain another one. The replacement quit after 6 months, new batteries, just stopped attached to a can, won't come off, guess I'll throw the whole thing away.

Do not buy this canopener. Save tour money!
Evidently, I belong to the people who had no luck with this can opener. It takes 18 minutes of starting it and stiopping it when the blade doesn't catch; it cuts part way, which makes it hard to use a regular can opener afterward, and most of the time it just sits thrre, wasting batteries and will not catch on the lid. Supposedly, it was great for people with arthritis and would open any can. Well, not my cans. It will not open 50 oz. cans without more trouble than it is worth. I am so sorry I bought this piece of crap and I wish I had returned it, but every once in while it would work for 2 cans.

Perfect compact can opener
I love this product. Having a little arthritis in my thumb sometimes made it difficult to twist a can opener. I still haven't conquered it to lift the lid with the magnet but the lid lifts easily by hand. It works great and so much better than a manual one. It is compact so sits in a drawer easily. I don't like things on my counters so this was the perfect answer. Highly recommend this can opener.

FUN CAN OPENER
The can opener is working very well. It opens cans faster than the one it replaces. It is easy to get the lid off with the magnet. It was well packed for shipping. I have not used it on the big cans that some people said they have trouble with, but on the small cans it is working well. The sound is much quieter than my old one that was a different brand. I like the purple color. The size makes it comfortable to hold and easy to use.. I would recommend this can opener without reservations. I like it had an extended warranty. I don't usual purchase those, but because the other one lasted less than a year, I viewed it as a sign I should get longer use -maybe 3 years - out of it. (I've only had it a months now.)Rosie
