Good Gen1 NV but way too expensive
Right off the bat, I was impressed with these. The weight of them is phenomenal, as well as the size. They aren't too bulky, nor too heavy. Still a bit sketchy on the plastic design of it but it seems to be constructed well. Moving on to the quality of the Night Vision itself- It takes some very tedious adjusting to get the image the way you like it to see clearly but once you get it there the image is amazing in quality and clarity (aside from the regular tiny specs you get with Gen1 NV, which is expected and perfectly fine.) I was rather impressed with how clear and detailed you could get the image after you played around with it some. It will be a shot in the dark for a lot of people with the lack of adjustment for personal eye width, but it works for alright for me. With ambient moonlight, especially a full moon, you will have almost no need for the IR light. It is clear and very easy to make out what you're looking at. However, in pitch darkness, you will always need the IR. The IR is decent for about 40-50 yards but then becomes faint. Within 20 yards, it will look like you've lit up the place like a football stadium. It assume it would work great with more powerful handheld IR lights. The headgear is a useful thing that they've included, which I'm glad they did for the price. It is kinda uncomfortable but I'm sure there's worse out there so I won't complain much. It's very adjustable so that you can fit it to you however you need. I bought this pair of NV to mainly use for close range varmint hunting, and though I haven't put it through a night of use yet, I believe it will work just fine. Here is where I will get to the main con of it thoโ the price. $450-$500 is way to expensive for what these are. I would pay $250, maybe $300 for these, including the headgear and be comfortable with it. But I'm debating returning these because of the price. It's good Gen1 night vision, but it's not worth $500 dollars in my opinion. I wish Sightmark would bring down the price on it because they could sell a ton of these if they would. Overall so far, they're a good pair of night vision, but they just cost too much.

Excellent for the price!
Purchased this set for Milsim Airsoft.I personally couldn't ask for better than I've gotten. Many said Gen 1 NVGs aren't worth it and I was iffy about it but I'm glad I did.My son and I did several test runs.1. The IR works great up to 50 feet at 75 feet it begins to fade out.2. Make sure to adjust both front and back lens to get good vision. Once ours was done they where crystal clear. Could easily make each others face out at about 20 feet.3. With a good clear night we could see well over 100 yrds without the IR.4. In complete darkness the IR lights up a room easily making it clear to move about. For a Poor man's budget, I would hands down recommend this product.Updated:Purchased a 2nd set and received it in good time with no issues upon inspection.Took a snapshot of my son at the end of a 40' table. IR is on due to camera not picking up regular view. Also it isn't in 100% focus.

Not for airsoft but good for its intended purpose.
For you airsofters who are looking into buying this device, there are a few design features which caused me to return the item:1. The eyepiece is designed to be buried into your eye socket. The lens is about 1/2" further giving the user enough space to blink their eyes. This means that if you would use this over your eyewear, the distance between your eyes and the lens is so far that your field of view would be very narrow... like a horse with blinders. This also forces your eyes in a near-sighted focus which can be harmful (I am no doctor though) to you vision with prolonged use.2. The distance between both eyepiece is too narrow to some people including me.3. The IR emitter is very visible to the naked eye in pitch black. The device is good for its purpose to see in night vision without breaking the bank. Although I do not think it is worth the price tag.

Disappointing Quality
When I saw these bino's with included headgear at under $300 I jumped on them. I was super excited with my first entry into the NVD world and Gen 1 was ok with me. The first one I ordered had a very dim tube. The second one was better but it quite working after only a few uses. Both tubes were very clean with very few spots. I was really disappointed that I had to return them. After two tries I am done with these. I guess I will get some better quality ones someday instead. Maybe Gen 2's which do not need an illuminator.

Great first nv set up but I stress the first .....
I love tthe hands free option althoughbthr headset is very involved I can't seem to get used to it the whole set up was just as advertised but using in a real lifer situation is a whole other ball game. I have a firefield 4ร50 monocoulour and the availability to zoom and the clarity it provided made me spoiled. This is a great system just wasn't for me or my needs. I am sticking with one eyed setups when I upgrade soon but everyone is different in there needs and likes just do your research......๐

they really work real good for Gen 1
I just purchased this few days back and I love them work real clear in the pitch black dark the lens caps for them make it so you can focus on your weapon when it's close to you and when you take them off you can see more because it's gathering more light I was skeptical about it And I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and it looks blurry but when you put it up to your own eyes it's very clear for A gen 1 works real good with pistols when you're trying to focus on irons sites but you got to leave the caps on and remember don't be expecting Gen 2 or 3 quality. I had to modify it to put it on my Rhino mount but it works just fine and yes its a real Kevlar helmet

Not ACH WARCOM Compatible
These are pretty okay, performance wise. I do not like that the IR illuminator is visibly red (like a cheap security camera) but that is something I can live with. What I cannot deal with is that there are no mounts (that I have found) that will allow this to be connected to a surplus rhino mount for ACH WARCOM. I have spent an additional $100-$200 on mounts that do not work. I would have went with something else had I known it would be this much of a hassle to mount to a helmet.
