Not the same.
This shoe I believe is a knock off. I bought the same exact model my husband already has that we got from the new balance store and this pair was cheaply made. The insoles it came with were not made right so the arch part is towards the toes so it digs and they were both left insoles. Also the look is a lot cheaper. The insoles in the real pair don't come out while these insoles come out and are super thin. Also the bottom tread is horrible.

Endorsed by my mailman
I hate to buy foot coverings. Especially on-line. I wear a 13, and sizing is critical, and varies greatly. And I buy inexpensive shoes, usually in the $30 range. But I asked my mailman what he wore, and he said New Balance. He said he walks 17 miles a day : who would know better? Curiously, years ago I had bought a pair (#381, probably on sale), and they were really comfortable, and lasted : they are now my lawn-moving shoes, and still going strong. So, I took a chance on these, for $50. They initially seemed to be tight (with my thicker winter socks), so I wore my thinner ones. They now feel comfortable with thick or thin. My wife and I walk 2-3 miles a day, and they have a decent bounce. (I don't run or do anything crazy.) They don't seem to get hot, although it's not yet summer. We'll see about that. For an on-line purchase, they fit and feel just fine. I'll remember the brand. I hope they last! See sentence 1.

Made in Indonesia New Balance
I thought NB shoes were still Made in USA. Nope, indonesia. Soft sole, not my preference. Wide fits my platypus feet. Many reviews note the separation of the sole from shoe...super unacceptable design flaw. I WILL update this if and when mine separate. I'm keeping them even though the black on black model looks like something from the nursing home...an orthopedic shoe. The removable sole pad is flat, high arch support this is not, I'll likely have to replace the sole insert. If one has flat arches, this shoe is fine for walking, but if one has moderate height arches then they will definitely need to spend another ten clams for better insoles, and if one has high arches (think arches national park in Utah high), then skip for another shoe. All in all, cheap price, cheap shoe.

Disappointed
I ordered my shoes in to E! wide as usual in my shoe purchases. This is the first time that I found my shoes to be ill fitting as I have developed a serious corn or callus on my pinky toe. My other foot I feel pain in the metatarsal bone. I have ordered new balance walking shoes many times in the past as Average 10,000 steps per day in my maintenance job. These just don’t have the comfort that I have come to know with new balance

Comfortable and practical
Good shoes. Just started using them. I walk approx 4-7 miles during my shift. The shoes are comfortable. My feet and legs are fatigued as normal at the end of shift but the shoes are still comfortable. Only negative, which is unavoidable, is I live in AZ so my feet get warm in these shoes. I'm curious to see how the shoes continue to perform and last.

Comfortable, nice looking and light in weight
These shoes are nice looking, seem well constructed, and very comfortable right out of the box. Walking in them feels nice and springy, and with a feeling of control and stability.Update 3/9/15: On both shoes the soles have come unglued and separated from the uppers at the toes. The soles are far from worn out, but that doesn't help if they separate from the uppers.Update 3/30/15: I ordered another pair of these. They are so comfortable right out of the box, and very light weight. I decided to give them another try. Meanwhile I will take the first pair and glue the soles back on so I can use them as yard work shoes. I bought a pair of shoe-trees (stretchers) at a rummage sale that will make it much easier to hold them in position while the glue sets. I'm boosting my rating back up by two stars. They lasted a lot longer than the Dr. Scholl's equivalent that I used before, and they're far more comfortable than the Dickies shoes I recently tried but had to give up on due to poor fit and discomfort.

Not what I expected
I have just begun to buy the New Balance brand again. Most pairs, not always the same model number, have been purchased from store front locations. One has been a wide length which is all the store had and the other was a medium width. The wide was sloppy and the other felt good. When I bought this pair of 411's through Amazon, I elected to choose the medium width. Although it's a little snug, I may have been more comfortable with a wide width. The shoe seems to be well constructed and I don't think you can go wrong with New Balance.

New Balance Men's MW411 Walking shoe
I have been wearing NB 609 shoes for years and while I could replace them, I would not pay full asking price. These shoes are actually more comfortable than the 609's. I'm wearing a size 10 and wear them almost every day. Very comfortable. Would purchase them again.Update: I purchase a pair of these NB MW411 walking shoes every 6 months. I have easily purchased 6-8 pair. I wear these shoes everyday. What I have noticed is that they begin to come apart at one of two places or both, 1) on the inside between the leather and the sole between the end of the big toe and the bunion and/or 2) the sole on the toe begins to peel back. What keeps me coming back is the price point and the comfort of the shoe. I take them to a local shoe shop where they re-glue the sole for $5 -$10. This is usually enough to get the full life out of the shoe without having to toss them out prematurely. To get a 5 star rating from me, they should last at least 6 months without having to repair every pair purchased. It's still a good shoe but I wish the glue would hold up better.

Old Man Shoes
Been having problems for some time now, getting a comfortable walking shoe. Did an internet search and found "Old Man Shoes" which fits my category. :-) I've been wearing shoes that are too narrow. These New Balance are 11 wide and fit very well. I try to walk at least 8K steps a day and now my feet are not sore or tired.

Wonderful shoe
Shoes fit perfectly for my large, hard to fit feet which is why I stick with New Balance. The larger sizes seem to be out of stock almost everywhere, so these was a welcome find.

Comfortable soles
I've worn New Balance shoes in the past. They are very comfortable. They easily accommodate orthotics as you can remove the insoles.
