Satellite in good shape and works. May need updating to connect.
Works after updating. If trouble connecting. You need to update the RBS before updating the RBR. Keep this in mind for future updates. What you need to do is factory reset the RBS. Wire connect a PC to the 1st satellite๐ก. Already have the most current FW version files downloaded on to this PC. Wire connect 1 PC to the back of the RBS. Factory reset the RBS, wait about 5 minutes. The PC will get a IP address from the satellite๐ก. The RBS will be 192.168.1.250. Use this IP address in a web browser to log in to the satellites web page. Be patient as may take a bit and then suddenly the window will pop up. Log in as admin and password. Use the satellites ๐ก web page FW update feature to select the FW update file that was unpacked from the .zip file. Then factory reset and then re-sync the satellites ๐ก to the RBR.

Great Mesh Network Devices!
We got the Orbi system a couple of years ago, and love it. With 3 units we are able to get great signal throughout the house, upstairs and downstairs. We expanded out to the she shed, but the signal wasn't strong enough to operate some devices. I tried a signal extender but that didn't work. This hooked right in with our main system and operates seamlessly. Who says old people can't figure out new technology! :-)

Did the job on hard to find satellite
Packaging was good. Only complaint was that it was very sticky, lol. Maybe they had wiped it down with a cleaning agent before sending it out or maybe it was sent to them sticky, idk. Wiped right off but was unexpected haha. Performance-wise... I wound up reflashing the forward but I'm not sure I had to. Not going to knock off a star because good chance I was setting it up wrong who knows. Once it was set up tho no problems works great Also regarding the sender... I had initially ordered the wrong refurb. So two things: 1. Absolutely make sure you check the Orbi compatibility chart before buying an addon... Basically you have to buy the same ones as the original router (and not newer ones) 2. The sender has no problem accepting my return. Very gracious. Would recommend this seller again.

Works as promised
Huge fan of Orbi since this original version came out many years ago. Now moving to a larger house, I bought this extra satellite to bolster my gig service. Works well and appears to give me more consistent coverage from every room, including the garage. Only challenge is the cost is now lower only 10 days after my purchase date. Thatโs disappointing.

RBS50 Satellite only works with the RBR50 Router
The RBS50 is the proper satellite for the RBR50 Router. Keep this in mind when ordering additional satellites for your system. I mistakenly ordered a RBS20 (which is smaller in size) and it would not connect to the router at all. The RBS50 may take a couple of tries to connect but it does work with this router.

Easy to install and increase coverage
I have a large house, and my base unit and one satellite provided great coverage for the spots I needed, but when my adult children moved in with me for a bit, we found dead spots in areas they needed covered. I added this new satellite and relocated the other satellite, and now we're without dead spots. At least until someone else moves in ...

Netgear Orbi satellite adaptor replacement
Why did you pick this product vs others?: The product is good. However, the adaptor is not matched to our local voltage. The adaptor I received is 100-120V, while our local is 220V. I had sent several reports to the vendor for replacement but no response, so far.

Much better than WiFi "extenders'
I have a large-ish house, and struggled for ages to get acceptable WiFi everywhere. I wasted much time and effort on WiFi "extenders" - Belkin, Netgear etc - basically, don't bother. Mesh networking is the way to go. Extenders just create a new network, piggy-backing on your existing one - so when SSID "mywifi" drops signal strength, you have to hope that your device is smart enough to switch onto the extender "mywifi_extend" network. Which in most cases, it's not. Mesh networking allows seamless roaming across the whole area of coverage, so that you don't need to know or care which satellite your device is actually talking to. This is pricey, but if you have a large property, a game-changer. My one complaint? I bought this because I had an Orbi router and two satellites originally, but lost one of the satellites in a house move. After months of fruitless searching, I ordered this one to replace it.... ...and found the missing unit a week later. Oh well. The Orbi system copes brilliantly with 3 satellites and my WiFi signal now covers my entire house (and probably most of the Pacific Northwest).
