Please tell me the chair base can be tilted down? (This chair is going to give me huge back problems).

It does 'rock" like a rocking chair, which I personally like. And you can tilt and lock so you recline a good extent if you prefer that. If you have back problems maybe a longer back would be better for you.

Adjust seat- does anyone know how to adjust the seat length to make it smaller, my back doesn’t rest comfortably as I feel the depth is too much.

I have never found a lever to adjust the seat length to make it smaller and I don't think that this is a feature of this design.

Does this chair have good lumbar support and does it sit upright? Thanks

The chair is so comfy, it doesn't sit straight up as a hard chair but has good back support and you can alter how much you want the back to go and lock it so it doesn't move also height adjustable
