It works great!
I love that its so easy to use. It does take some time to set up but life afterwards is worth the work! I can now have a true peace of mind while my kids use the internet. If you use parental locks on Netflix, youtube, and every other form of media, then CleanerNet will be the icing on the cake!*Update: I have had this service for a year now and I am very happy with the decision to go with Cleanernet. Support has always been there when I’ve needed it. Very professional! I can’t say enough good things about it. Worth every penny! I recommend Cleanernet!

POOR RANGE, UNRELIABLE
Will block google docs and classroom even when they are added as exceptions. Then it will work for a bit, then block again, even when set on minimal security. Tech support is by e mail. Sent in a request 15 hours ago, so far nothing. This has been acting up for several months, tried resets, etc. Finally bypassed so kids could get homework done.

Reliable
This modem has been reliable and the report is easy to decipher.

Avoid this unless you live in a 600 sq. ft. home on several hundred acres (no neighbors)
I am a network engineer for a gigabit FTTH provider. These are absolute junk and not worth your time or money. Our technicians are often called out on support calls for slow speeds. I was visiting a VIP customer last week who had this router. This customer lived in a 3br duplex on ~ 1/3 of an acre. I plugged my laptop directly into her ONT (fiber modem) and received 945/980 (downstream/upstream). I plugged into the router and received a very similar speed (940/970) which is fine given NAT and other management features. Using 5.8Ghz and standing 10' from the router my speeds were in the 700s. I closed the closet and moved to the kitchen (~15' from the router) and my speeds were down in the 300s and upstairs in her home office the speeds were below 30Mbps. This is on a gigabit network. We replaced her "new" ReadyNet WiFi device with a 5 year old 801.11ac router and her office speeds were up in the 900s. Our techs spend a lot of time working with customers who report slow speeds on their gigabit connections and if they have a ReadyNet router, we replace it and problems are solved. Don't waste your money or time.

NO subscription required in the description is false and misleading
Why are they saying NO subscription required in the description is false and misleading since there is a subscription needed after the first year?

Good filtering, know your network for detailed setup
It took a little research to understand how the router is different from the mini. We went with the router to have uninterrupted control that cannot be overridden by a smart teenager. I can control this even when I'm traveling and my wife finds it simple to adjust on her phone too.Our wifi network was with spectrum and had a eero mesh to cover the house. The cleaner nets compatibility list said the router may not work with either spectrum or eeros. I took a chance and it worked. I had to put the eeros in bridge mode and replace the spectrum router with the 1GB router limts unit. I turned off the broadcasting on the router to manage the wifi signal thru the eeros. Overall after I figured those things out it was an easy hardware setup.Setting up groups can be a challenge. Identifying the device that is broadcasting can be difficult with a lot of devices in the house. The tedious way is with the MAC address, but it works. Older TV's, soundbars and other devices are not easy to identify. I broke my childs devices into gaming, tv, and school groups so I could turn things off at different times and control the URLs differently. The parental controls are pretty good and it is simple to add the common filtering items to a group. I like the option to add individual URLs to a blacklist or whitelist. You can even sub categorize to a separate grouping within a device's limitations. The software guys should make a way to copy the URL settings to a new group. As of now you have to manipulate each setting by hand. A relatively minor frustration if you have long lists. On limits I would rather have the option to adjust the active and limitation times down to the minute, but on-the-hour does work.I would love to see a way to stop adult youtube content, but youtube has intentionally made it difficult to rate the content. And I cannot find a way to block individual channels. My next project is to get the software onto the individual devices to run to filter content. Overall, this is one of the best investments in protecting my family. I highly recommend the Cleaner Net even though it took some time to figire out the details.
