Fox Racing Speedframe Mountain Bike Helmet

I'm 50 and have been mountain biking for 2 years. I've had the cheap helmet from Amazon and I've had an expensive Trek Blaze Wavecel helmet. (The first one I smashed on a serious accident, I gave the second one away to a friend to get them biking). My head is 62cm and the Large fits perfectly for me. I like that it comes with an extra set of pads so that you remove and wash them without having to wait for the one set to dry. This speed helmet isn't heavy and it's versatile. I've used it doing 40 miles of XC and some serious trail riding in the Upper Peninsula. This is a great quality helmet for a good price. I've had a few spills this year, but this helmet has handled everything without even a scratch. When I have to replace this helmet, or when I do decide to get a full-face for more aggressive riding, I'll probably stick with Fox instead of more expensive brand.

Looks good. Comfortable to wear. Was able to fit it well to my head and it feels like it will protect (haven’t really tested that part yet).

Bought this for my granddaughter who is an avid rider. She absolutely loved it. Sturdy and stays in place. Has opening at the ears and is very comfortable

Remember when we were growing up and the helmets were pretty much a chunk of styrofoam strapped to our heads? The undersides of our chins forever scarred my the guaranteed skin pinch by those clasps that must have been designed by an interrogator who uses “any means necessary.” And, how much safety is really being provided by a styrofoam block, strapped to your head with so much movement that it inspired the bobble heads we see at baseball stadiums? But this helmet…this helmet is the definition of safety. Cool safety. The kind of sleek security that my 13 year old begged for. I promise I never once begged my parents for the block of styrofoam. Fox, thank you for designing something that is asked for rather than argued over.

Well vented and keeps sweat out of the face

The Speedframe MIPS is a good helmet, looks good, is relatively comfortable despite the minimalistic padding, and has great ventilation. I've never had any problems even on day-long rides. It also comes in different shell sizes - as opposed to "universal" size, like the GIRO Fixture - which means it will look proportionate even on smaller heads. One less star for the following reasons: 1. Expensive. You can buy an entry-level, full-face motocross helmet at this price. 2. Internal labels are not waterproof, and eventually peel off 3. FOX side decals are delicate, we have 3 Speedframes at home, all pretty recent, and 2 show decal damage in the very same spot (see photos).

Fits on son’s head great. Is sleek, comfortable and stylish, has padding in all the right places and extra to put where you want, I feel comfortable when he wears it knowing he is protected.
