ZarrinDate Molasses (Syrup), 31.75 oz / 900g

A friend told me about date syrup; she told me about how she enjoyed the taste and how she uses it in cooking. Since I haven't used it, I checked out the different brands on Amazon and online. I discovered that this brand, Zarrin, is simply made. It's thick - not like the other brands. It comes in a glass jar (I hate plastic, squeeze bottles!) and it's less expensive than the other highly-reviewed brands. I'm delighted with Zarrin's date molasses (that's the Turkish name for it). Don't be dissuaded from using it by the word "molasses"; it's the clue to the richness and simplicity of the date syrup. And it's delicious.

Purchased this item multiple times… I do not eat any refined sugars, honey, or maple syrup; a little pricey, but this stuff is phenomenal. Great replacement!

Item leaked through box. Even though item was wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap, the glass was broken. Not salvageable. What a shame.

I haven't opened the jar yet but it arrived tightly sealed, reinforced with tape, and bubble wrapped! I was concerned because of all the reviews about leaking jars; happily mine was fine

I make a plant-based banana cream pie and I drizzled this on it. It is absolutely delicious!

I worked in the Middle East many years and know good date syrup. Over there it's called Dhibs. Or commonly called Date Honey but not from bees. This Turkish Zarrin brand is excellent and ranks right up there with the fancy expensive brands that cost twice as much. Unfortunately, like others mine leaked. The jar is glass and the lid is like a pickle jar type was only half tight. And the top of jar doesn't have those paper seals we are accustomed to on USA product jars. Mine only lost about a TBS full thankfully. If the liquid inside was watery, it surely would been all lost. The lid does come with a flimsy plastic outer tamper seal. But that seal doesn't prevent leakage. Hopefully the MFR takes heed of our leakage feedback and makes improvements. I may or may not buy again. On final note mix it with peanut butter. YUM.

Like many other reviews, my order arrived as a leaking mess. I'd say about 8-10% of the jar's content had leaked out.On the positive side.....Once I cleaned up the mess I tasted the product. It is absolutely wonderful. I tried dipping many of my favorite snacks into the date molasses and I cannot say enough good things about the flavor. I cannot wait to prepare/cook/bake some of my favorite recipes using this product in place of sugar/honey/traditional molasses.The company (Zarrin) that manufacturers and ships such a wonderful product needs to find a lid with a better seal, tighten the lid more in process, or improve the shrink wrap seal on the lid. That said, the product has a DOM (date of manufacturer) and BBD (best by date) on the label. The product indicates "store at room temperature" after opening. Given that, I'm comfortable using this product even though the leakage would otherwise make me skeptical about of the freshness and safety of consuming.To Zarrin, please improve your processing and packaging. You have a wonderful product. Otherwise I might consider looking for a local supplier (i.e., grocery or specialty food store) next time I need to re-purchase date molasses.Thanks....Great Product.

Really amazing date syrup. Add it to main dishes to sweeten. Great quality. Very pleased with the flavor.
