Everything You Need To Learn Uke
Looking to add a larger Ukulele to our collection, I decided on this one. Since we own most all the accessories for guitar, bass, and uke, I didn't pay much attention to the extras that this one comes with. I was surprised with how complete the kit is. None of my other ukes came with a strap and usually, for a tuner, they recommended a phone app.To start with, the sound is a bit fuller compared to our smaller uke. It fills our little music room much better. I have not recorded it, yet, but I think that will sound great, as well. The fretboard is a little larger making it easier for me to play chords. Coming from guitar and bass, my fingers always felt cramped when chording on a uke neck. The tuner is an excellent addition to this kit. It will work for guitar, bass, violin, and ukulele (it also has a full chromatic setting). If set properly, the tuner displays the string number that it thinks you are tuning to. Once that string is in tune, the backlight turns green instead of blue.It also comes with a nice soft case to transport your uke. The small front pocket allows you to take extra strings, a tuner, a cloth (which this also comes with) and other small items you may need. The attached backpack style straps are a nice touch to keep your hands free while you carry it (though, it is a uke so it's pretty small).I am very happy with this ukulele for my needs but if I was a beginner and needed the full kit, the value here would be awesome!Keep in mind that any Uke you get will need to be broken in. This goes for changing the strings, too. Whenever the strings are new, they need to be stretched. My guitars usually break in pretty quickly so I remember being surprised that my first uke would not hold tune. This goes away after a few days of playing the strings...

Great Concert Uke And Accessories
This is my first concert size ukulele. I’ve played guitar and bass for over 35 years and also own a mandolin, octave mandolin, a tenor uke and have owned a few dozen stringed instruments of various size and quality. Donner’s attention to detail for this instrument is very good. I didn’t notice any construction flaws such as sloppy glue up or bad looking joints. This definitely adds to the excellent tone and appearance of the instrument. The wood selection is also very good. That being said, mine has unmatched top pieces. Not a deal breaker, but I thought it gave it a different look. The sides and neck are made of mahogany and fingerboard is a thin rosewood veneer.Because of the concert size versus a tenor ukulele, the volume and clarity of the notes is apparent. Playing with the supplied picks makes a difference if you prefer to play with a plectrum instead of strumming with your fingers. If you have large hands or prefer a neck and fingerboard bigger than a tenor uke, I would suggest a concert ukulele because of the larger size. It doesn’t seem like playing a toy and the notes have much more definition. The strap, picks, tuner, polishing cloth and extra strings are a nice bonus. I do think the gig bag is nicely constructed and overall this whole package is an excellent value for a novice or intermediate player.

Lots of items for a great value
This ukulele is super cool! I love the coloring and the little detailing around the sound hole. As for the sound, it sounds great. It's nothing extravagant, but exactly what I would expect from a soprano of this price. And not only do you get the ukulele, you get a bunch of goodies too. It comes with extra strings, picks, a tuner, a strap and a cleaning cloth. For the cost, this is a bunch of really useful stuff that comes with a good ukulele!

highly recommended
This is the second Ukulele we bought. The first one is cheaper but of low quality so we returned it and bought this one at a little extra more costs. The moment we saw it we knew we will keep and love it. It's affordable for anyone want to learn to play. It has fine craftsmanship at this price. We compared it with the first one we bought. This one produces voice more beautiful. The tuner is not bad. We like the bag, exactly as what in the image shown by the seller. To be brief, it deserves what you pay. Highly recommended.

For this price ( about $50) oh my gosh!
This is a beautiful sounding and looking ukulele. It has great resonance. The strings are easy to play. They are fluorocarbon. And They sound great. The solid spruce top just rings. This is my second Donner uke. You can’t beat the value. This uke sounds like quality. the neck is very comfortabLe. I think it’s wide for a soprano. I am still a beginner, but I am in love with this ukulele. It’s the best! And I didn’t even mention the bag and tuner and other stuff!

Extremely Satisfied
The packaging was superb and kept the instrument safe through the mail. The bag/backpack is very high quality for a soft case. It’s a GREAT deal considering all that it comes with. It’s an excellent tuner and everything you’d need to get started. Perfect for experienced players and beginners. Great quality instrument as well. No overhang on the nut, neck is smooth, fretted evenly.. extremely satisfied.

Nice Ukuleles for a nice price
The media could not be loaded. I think it is a great deal. Nice sound, weight, and feel. The tuning pegs are better than those found on most other inexpensive instruments. Excellent craftsmanship, Comes with a gig bag and accessories. Definitely a great deal for anyone starting out. Very happy with this product, and the gig bags that came with are padded. I bought one of each size, they both are equally great!

Doesn't stay in tune
Can't play this for more than 5 minutes before the strings are back out of tune. If you want a toy, it's fine, but if you really want to learn how to play, this is not the uke for you.

Perfect for beginners or intermediate players alike. Great sound & brilliant build quality.
I have played guitar for 15+ years and have owned a couple of Soprano Ukuleles in the past. As I have quite large hands I never quite got on with them so decided to opt for a Concert Ukulele. The size of this ukulele is perfect for me.Decided to get a Donner branded one as I've owned lots of their guitar effects pedals and they've always had really solid build quality. This ukulele is just as solid. Beautifully put together, no blemishes in the finish. No sharp edges on frets. Tuners feel really solid, instrument keeps it's tuning really well. Sounds really good and is noticeably louder than a Soprano sized instrument. The included accessories are really good for the money as well. Came with a gig bag, strap, tuner, spare strings, plectrums & cleaning cloth. Also has some simple chord diagrams on the bag of the cardboard tag attached to the Ukulele. Would highly recommend this for a beginner as includes everything you need to get started.

Great for the beginner that's looking for a good value for money and playable Concert Ukulele
This review is for the Donner Concert Ukulele, Solid Top Spruce Ukulele Kit with Gig Bag Strap String Pick Tuner DUC410, 23″So, I’d been looking for a while for a decent starter Ukulele after watching a few videos on YouTube. I’d visited a couple of local music stores near me in Birmingham, UK, and looked at a few Ukuleles there.I found the Soprano Ukes to be a little too small for the size of my hands. They would probably be more suited to a child, teen, or small adult. This is a Concert Ukulele, so it's a bit bigger than the Soprano Ukes. The Concert size feels just right for me as an adult man but it still has the classic bright Ukulele sound. If you’ve got larger hands you might be more comfortable with a Tenor Ukulele. But they do start to sound a bit darker in tone, but that wasn’t what I was looking for personally. If you’re unsure about which one you’d need, I’d recommend trying out a friends' if you can, or visit a local music store. That’s what I did, but I found my local shops had basically two tiers in stock. Ones that had a laminated top (poorer quality compared to a solid top) Ukuleles, starting around £70. And solid top ones which started at around £130 (prices stated as in August 2020), which was a bit more money than I wanted to hand over. At least for my first proper starter Ukulele. The Donner Concert Uke seemed like a great price compared to the ones in my local music stores. So I decided to take a chance with ordering online.Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed. The solid spruce top of the Donner Concert Ukulele is closer to the ones selling for around £130 in the music stores near me. Those ones didn't come with a tuner, gig bag, or strap included either. The look of the Donner Ukulele is great. Much better than the cheap £20 toy Ukulele I had played on years back. It has a nice high-quality build and finish, and what seems to be very good quality woods.I'm more used to guitars. I've played acoustic and electrics for almost 20 years. So, I always check the straightness of the neck, which, on this Uke, was nice and straight to my eye.I also thought the edges on the frets were good too. No nasty burrs to catch your fingers on and very uniformly finished. Overall, it’s struck me as a well-made starter instrument rather than a cheap toy or novelty Ukulele.Included in the box you get the Concert Ukulele itself, and a nice little gig bag to keep and transport it in. You also get a strap, a few plectrums, a spare set of nylon strings, a cleaning cloth, and a tuner. So pretty much everything you need in a beginner’s kit.The strap is fine, the colours and design aren’t really to my personal taste. It seems perfectly fine to hold the Ukulele around you which is the important thing I suppose.I was pleasantly surprised to find that the battery for the tuner came included in the box with the tuner. The tuner has options to tune a guitar, and violin as well as Ukulele. One thing to note was that the Ukulele comes with strings already installed. As well as another spare set.The strings on the Uke were slackened off when it arrived. This is so they aren’t under full tension during shipping - so you do need to tune up before playing.Ukuleles are tuned differently to guitars. So, if you've never tuned up a Uke before, take a minute to read the tuner manual and have a look at a YouTube video too. The tuner is a great little tuner, easy to use and a clear display.Being Nylon strings, they do need to be stretched in. So for the first couple of days, you will be constantly tuning up. Don't be dismayed, this is the norm with nylon strings. After a couple of days, the strings will have settled down and stay in tune.It seems to hold tuning very well once the strings have been fully stretched in. Probably due to the 18:1 machine head gear ratios. Although, I don’t really know how this affects Ukuleles. On guitars, a general rule of thumb is the higher the ratio the better, as it allows for more precise tuning. These seem to be very smooth and no backlash (unwinding due to the tension of the strings), as far as I can tell.Overall, I’d say I’m very happy with this purchase. I think the kit comes with everything you need to start playing the Ukulele and would suit anyone looking to try to learn without breaking the bank. It’s a bit more expensive than some I’ve seen for sale online, but I think those cheaper ones seem to be very poorly made. I would consider them more of a kids toy rather than an actual decent instrument to learn to play on.The cheaper ones are a false economy as often they are generally unplayable as an actual instrument.I bought a cheap one years back for around £20. It was fun, but it kept going out of tune constantly and it sounded pretty pants. It got filed into the rubbish bin after not too long. This Donner Concert Uke kit is good value for money basically. It should be all you need to get off to a flying start into learning how to play the Ukulele. Well, this and a couple of good books, and a little time and dedication!I’m really happy with mine, and it sounds great too. I hope that this review was helpful to you and happy strumming!

Great value ukulele kit. Well made and sounds nice.
This is a well made instrument. The finish feels nice. It’s satin, not gloss. It sounds great. It’s a well put together kit. The action is good. I’ve played guitar for over 30 years. I know nothing about Ukeleles but from my guitar experience this sounds and feels good. I like the way the tuner turns green when it reaches pitch. Machine heads work well and I like the open back look.

Poor strings
Looks OK but didn’t realise that the uk is made in China. Bought on basis of survey that thought it gives a good sound for budget instrument. Certainly doesn’t with strings provided. In my opinion they are rubbish. Fitted a set of better quality strings and sound improved. The tuning knobs and headplate are ‘plasticky’. Can only hope they withstand use.
