Batman and Robin’s World War II Adventures
This beautiful hardback collection was compiled and edited by comic book legend Roy Thomas. This oversized book is very colorful with a wide assortment of Batman and Robin adventures that occur as World War II was taking place in real time. While many of the stories focus on being uplifting and patriotic, some of the stories delve into darker and more sobering areas of the war. It’s obvious that these comic book stories were designed to raise morale with our men and women who were serving in the Armed Forces, and were also meant to praise and encourage American civilians working on the Home Front. This objective was met using a powerful propaganda tool known as the comic book.So settle back and enjoy the Dynamic Duo’s wartime adventures presented in this very pleasing collection.

Homefront Batman
Roy Thomas the greatest archivist/ ret con writer of the golden age of American superhero comics selected a series of Batman and Robin comics from before and during the second world war. These periods are broken up by brief but interesting asides by Thomas who would have been reading these books as a kid. I found it interesting but the golden age is my grandfather's age of comics rather than mine. People expecting the dark brooding, super competent Batman of the modern era might find it too different for their tastes. I however had a good time with it.

This is a great volume for you or the Batman fan on your list. Of course, they might already have these if they've been collecting the comics since the 40's. But for most of the rest of us, they are a great addition (edition?) to our modest collections. These are hardcover books, with a solid, substantial feel to them. The printing is obviously reprints of the classic comics, but they are colorful, easily legible and the pages are thick and glossy. They feel like quality volumes; books like you want on your shelves, or the kind of book that makes a great, memorable gift for someone. All in all, I've enjoyed them immensely and they are even better than what I thought they'd be.

You need this Bat Book
An absolute must have for any Batman fan. I wish more consideration for Bill Finger had been added in, but if you know the history then you know why this wasn't done. Ah but the comics look crisp and new on these pages! It's so amazing to see the evolution of Bruce Wayne and the entire Batman mythos before WW2.

Great classic Batman stories - featured the first generation teams of the character's creators. Some of the stories are familiar but many have not been overly reprinted so you won't feel ripped off. Oversized hardbound book, it looks like they cleaned up the graphics a little and slightly larger printing makes it easier to read, and what fun it is to read them. Some are ripping yarns, some pure propaganda but what a great time capsule. If the Superman and Wonder Woman companion volumes are as good as this one, it'll be like winning a lottery.

Nice collection for Bat-fans.
My teen daughter is a HUGE Batman (and bativerse) fan. She LOVES this collection of comics. She's also learned a thing or two about the early Batman and has been able to impress some of her online batfan friends with the arcane knowledge. A winner!

Perfect shape
I can't wait to give this book to my nephew. He's going to love the full pages colored comic strips.
