I bought this to use for our hawaiian "red" fish.
I bought this to use for our hawaiian "red" fish. We fish off high cliffs and need a sensitive but strong rod. As the rod came, the packaging sucks as I have come to expect when buying rods form amazon, rod was loosely packed in a box. Nothing was damaged and when I used this rod for casting I was amazed at the sensitivity and backbone. I'm throwing 3/4-1oz lead from 20-30 foot cliffs, the targeted fish is small and the rod has incredible sensitivity for something I would consider a cheap off the shelf rod. Compared to some of our local off the shelf menpachi rods and my more expensive custom rods this was definitely worth it. Was different to use a 3 piece as most of the rods I use are 2 piece, but it sure is convenient when transporting the rod. At 14' its perfect for our high cliff fishing and bringing up our large menpachi(crappie sized) and aweoweo is not a problem.I'm going to turn my friends on to this as a cheap alternative to our local menpachi rods, cannot beat the price! I did extend the butt of the rod 6" and I may replace the eyes to something a little bigger , I think its limiting the distance I can get from this rod. This rod wasn't designed for casting but with the butt extension it works great for our style. Overall I am extremely pleased with it both in price and performance!

Berkley rods are hard to find
My husband loves this brand, and was ecstatic about it, he wished it was 9' pole though.

rod broke after 2 uses!
extremely disappointed since i liked the rod while it lasted . . . for all of 2 trips. i saw the reviews and knew a couple people had this issue but honestly i figured somebody was throwing to heavy of a lure or just being rough with their rod. unfortunately i can now confirm that this is not user error. i basically watched the windings that are the only thing hold the tip to the rest of the rod become looser and looser until -as you can see from the photos- the tip was just hanging by a thread. sure this is not a 200 dollar rod, but that is no excuse for what is clearly either a known design flaw or quality control issue. frankly, my kids have 10 dollar walmart combos with rods that take a beating and still last years longer than the few days this one did. really disappointed since i liked the rod while it lasted. i may try to either reattach or totally replace the tip when i get over my irritation with the whole situation, but even then im not sure i'd take it back out because i just cant trust the rest of it to hold up now.

Well Worth the price
These Rods are lite sensitive and strong. I landed a 20” bass I caught while trolling for crappie without a hitch. I now own 4. Two 12 footers and two 10 footers

Great Crappie Rod for the price.
I ordered this for a fishing trip to the Midwest. It has a great balance good tip feel and enough backbone to lift slabs in the boat. I made the mistake of introducing my wife to dipping brush piles with this rod. Now I have to buy one for myself as this one has been commandeered.

14' light, line 4-12 lb
Looks very sensitiveWorks good with 20-30 gram lures, bombarda. Use it for jiging, very satisfy. Works good with 16g squid jig. The rod is 4.3 meter. Still can not find the test spec

Rod tip broke within first two fishing trips
I understand that this isn’t the “top of the line” fishing rod, but was hoping it would last longer than this. I’d recommend spending a little more to get a little more quality if you’re trying to decide what to purchase.
