Amazon Basics Ball Bearing Drawer Slides - 18-Inch, Steel, 10-Pack

My mirror cabinet drawers (16 inches depth) are pretty heavy but came installed with bottom-mounted drawer slides that are flimsy and make it harder to open/close the drawers when filled up with stuff. Eventually, these slides bent permanently, and it was dangerous to operate a couple of drawers that ended up in a precarious position.I found these 14 inches ball bearing drawer slides on Amazon. Not being a handy person in general, I was hesitant but decided to purchase two sets to replace couple of ill-positioned drawers in the cabinet. The instructions and illustrations are pretty clear. The confusing parts that were not made apparent by the manual:1. How do I horizontally position the slides on the drawers? It may be obvious to others, and I finally realized that the slides must be flush with the back of the drawer's front cover.2. There are multiple screw holes on the slides, so which ones should I choose? I decided to choose the smallest holes. There were a few holes that were not necessarily smaller. For holes that were rectangular shaped with semi-circular ends, I chose the holes with the vertically longer side, and positioned the screw on the top part of the hole. Again, this might be obvious to some, but definitely not to me.It took me a full 3 hours to measure, draw guide lines and line up everything appropriately. Finally, I was able to insert the drawers using the new drawer slides and the result was nothing short of amazing. With the same exact amount of stuff in the drawer, these slides allow for extremely smooth operation of the drawers. It feels so much more secure

Price: Much better than price than other drawer slides ($50-$75 is too much).Quality: After comparing these slides vs the slides that came with my cabinet, these were a little stiffer (they will loosen a little with time) and less smooth. It is a noticeable but not important difference. These are Grade B slides, but I like them.Ease: These slides were user-friendly. Loved the release levers. The directions were partially helpful.Suggestions:1. Tools - Directions recommend phillips screwdriver, tape measure, pencil and level. All helped. Also consider a small drill/electric screwdriver (for inside the cabinet work and to remove previous slides), a flashlight/smart phone light to see inside the cabinet, tape if you have to hold on to the string in the back of the the drawer and maybe a rag or gloves if the previous slides are really greasy.2. Trick - Only put two screws in each side of the drawer's slides (tightly at either end), then insert the drawer to test the fit. When the fit is correct, remove the drawer (using the handy release levers) and put in the rest of the screws for the drawer slides (4 per side). It is much easier to make corrections to the drawer slides than the cabinet slides.3. Screws - Hold on to the original screws from the cabinet and drawer. They may be longer than the screws provided with these slides. Those longer screws may be a better length or perfect fit for inside the cabinet. Consider re-using them.4. Directions - The Installation Guide described the materials well, and the images were okay. Learn how to use the release levers. They are great. The written directions were not the best. Consider an online video or give yourself extra time to figure out the best order of actions and how best to make appropriate measurements. Measuring properly and leveling are important. Get the inside of the cabinet right, and make any fine-tuning adjustments to the drawer. It is so much easier to work on the drawer.

I used these for a large shop project, and it saved me a lot of money. Used for tool drawers, so the product has to support a lot of weight. They are holding up great. On my first order, there were a couple of slides that were damaged, and wouldn't slide/open properly. I submitted a return, and my replacement slides arrived before I had completed building the rest of my drawers. These are NOT SELF CLOSING, but they ARE FULL EXTENSION. Read full product description before ordering. I knew this, and didn't need the self closing feature anyway. Excellent product!!!

Sturdy slides that operate smoothly but you have to be very careful about tolerances and alignment. I had one drawer that was a bit tight so I used some force to insert the drawer and it caused the ball bearing hanger to bend and disform. Thankfully I was able to bend it back and use it but something to keep in mind. These are just a little greater than 1/2" thick and are not soft close.

These environmentally friendly refills fit many of the pens I've acquired over the years and work just like the original. Can be trimmed up to about 3/4" if necessary. Highly recommend.

Out these in an island that has 14 drawers. One of those drawers is large enough that we put 50 lb bags of dog food in it and they are holding up perfectly.They are very sturdy. Despite some abuse from me during a hitch in the installation, they still performed well. I can't say that all of my measurements were perfect either, but the slides still perform well.They have multiple holes you can use to mount them. Some circular, vertical slots, and horizontal slots This provides a lot of options to screw them in and then adjust them depending on the type of hole you use. It also leaves you options if you need to remove the screw completely to adjust them because then you can use a different hole and avoid the misplaced hole throwing things off.

Great replacements for my old toolbox sliders that i had broke. No complaints here. Quick install, back to opening and closing with ZERO issue

I kept loosing items in the back of the pantry and could not reach them. Then my cheap pantry fell apart. Well entertainment center turned pantry/storage all with slide out drawers for easy access. This way my tiny kitchen is not cluttered and value shopping is easier.

While these drawer slides are not the standard I would use on a $3000.00 desk they are great for kitchen canbinets and other desks. Like most cabinet drawer slides don't bother with the instructions (poorly written & complicated) instead use the Kreg Drawer Slide Jig and watch the youtube video on how to use them. Well worth the money.

I made some home made trays to fit in some storage shelving so I could pull them out and easily look at the contents of the shelves. Especially handy for trays holding 50 or more cans of spray paint so easy to find the right color. Also handy for a quick look over jars of screws and nails to pick the right size. These drawer slides are so strong I cannot overload the shelves. The ball bearings allow one finger operation no matter how full. They are absolutely excellent and outstanding value.
