Unlike other bedding material, Carefresh pet bedding works to suppress the formation of ammonia, the primary odor caused by pet urine. Super Absorbent. Carefresh Small Animal Bedding absorbs 3x its weight in liquids from pet urine or water bottle leaks so cages stay clean and dry. Carefresh Pet Bedding also lasts twice as long as shavings so you save time and money. Less dust. Carefresh Pet Bedding is softer and less dusty than other forms of small animal bedding. It's cleaner and healthier for you and your pet. Good for the environment. Carefresh Pet Bedding has turned pulp and paper industry waste into pet owner's favorite brand of pet bedding.

Guinea Pig Stamp of Approval. Actually, they don't care, but I've been using this for 3+ years.
I have two pet store procured guinea pigs, both of which are really just a huge social experiment in them getting something from me, but offering really nothing in return. Since they're most likely related and/or inbred, they don't exude any great deal of intelligence. All my attempts to train them and entice them through agility courses with snacks of their liking are met with the utmost of cantankerous stink-eye, and the only time(s) that I'm really convinced that they even care about my own existence is when they hear the fridge opening and their fresh food baggies rattling.Otherwise...they sit there and look at me. Sometimes they popcorn with each other when I play with them, but more often times than not, they just look at me. They don't run away in fear, but they don't come to me for attention (unless I have food). They'll purr when I pet them, but I think they actually like the dog better than they like me, since when he goes by to check them out, one of them will go up and give him a kiss, almost daily. In their trivial existence, I don't think they really care what litter I use for them, or the fact that I line their habitat with pee pee pads first to really make cleanup easier. Inevitably, they kick a little bit of litter/poop outside, which is fine. I've used this particular brand for 3+ years, and two thoughts:1) The consistency/color varies from bag to bag. Sometimes I get this almost fluffy light brown colored product, and sometimes I'll get a more densely packed, almost musty smelling darker brown product. Both do the job equally well, as I scoop corners every 2 - 3 days, and do a complete changeout as appropriate. If the guinea pigs prefer the smell of one over another, they sure aren't telling me about it. In my latest batch, I also had remnants of different colored litter (some pink, some blue).2) Pricing seems to change seasonally. Sometimes it's only 11 or 12 bucks for a bag, other times it's 15 or 16. Since I go through about a bag a month, the savings aren't THAT phenomenal, but if you go through a lot it might be worth stocking up when prices are low.Carry on.

Rabbit Ate This and The Smell Got Worse
Let me be blunt. I hate this stuff.I ordered the soft pet bedding for my indoor mini lop rabbit, hoping it would be softer bedding but absorb the order as well as the pine bedding. I had heard pine bedding was not a good choice (although, I've also read articles on why pine is OK) and was looking for an alternative. I didn't want to do the recycled paper pellets for the rabbit because I was concerned about his feet being on lumpy hard bedding (but Yesterday's News is my favorite for the cats). So I tried the Carefresh Natural Premium Soft Bedding. It's fluffy and has good coverage but that's it's only benefits. I didn't have an odor problem before using this, but after, the odor was horrible. I was changing the bedding daily and it still smelled. On top of the odor I suspect that bunny was eating the bedding, thus drinking more water and urinating/defecating more often. It was a visious circle and I went to aspen shavings. There's less poop, he's not drinking so much, and the ordor is 100% better.I wanted to like this bedding. The reviews looked good. I received helpful answers to my questions. I just can't like it, and it's not good for my rabbit.

Same amount as "30L", you're not getting more, the package is wrong
Same package size as a "30L" (ABSORPTION CORP 118030 CAREFRESH NATURAL PREMIUM SOFT BEDDING NATURAL 30 LITER) when sat side by side, doesn't last longer than the 30L. The product is good but the fact that they're basically lying on the package makes me not want to buy it again. In fact, we have not bought any more carefresh products at all since we bought this. We started using fleece and puppy pads. Cheaper in the long run.We literally compared a 30L package bought at petsmart with the package you see here. There was no visible difference that me or my husband could see. In terms of use, we used about half a package each time we changed bedding for our critters with both the old package and the package you see here. And the product I posted above? the 30L? MORE EXPENSIVE than this. I don't understand why companies do this to people. This stuff is already overpriced enough, stop screwing us over!
