I used to groom our Lhasa Apso's years ago just because they were so cute and it was fun..
First off; I am not a professional groomer. I used to groom our Lhasa Apso's years ago just because they were so cute and it was fun....my wife use to make fun of me because I would do the whole bow and bandanna thing.....but I digress.Anyway, we now have an English Springer Spaniel and live in Europe. I used to take him to the groomer, but have since decided to start grooming him myself....why? No one is able to clip him properly. I went to use an electric clipper (Oster) that I bought in the States several years ago.....I use a step-down transformer to change the voltage from 220 to 120 but the clipper wouldn't work properly because of the 50 Hz line frequency....it sounded as if the clipper was going to fall apart.....clak, clak, clak!I wasn't willing to spend over $300 for a European Wahl clipper that I could only use while I lived in Europe so I decided to start researching clippers. I did not know how overwhelming that was going to be....the selection was staggering!! After much research I decided on the Wahl Motion cordless clipper for three reasons. 1. I have a battery operated Wahl hair/mustache trimmer and have used it for years without any problems. 2. The reviews the Wahl Motion received were/are very positive as a rule. 3. Almost all reviews regarding all clippers had issues with hot blades. I didn't want to deal with hot blades, but was willing to if it was necessary. The Motion reviews all said the 5 in 1 blade did not get hot....this was a BIG plus.I ordered it from Amazon and had it delivered to a hotel for when I visited the States about a month ago (I actually ordered several things) and everything was there waiting when I arrived. Gotta love that!! The clipper battery was already charged!! I plugged it in to charge it and the light went out in 8 minutes.So.....I bring it back to Europe and finally build up enough courage to trim our Springer. By the way...I was more than willing to do this because every groomer we ever used loved grooming him because he loves the attention. As long as our Springer is getting petted, groomed, fed and loved he is a happy dog!! I won't go into too much detail about my grooming results (I watched and learned from a very informative hour long video on the internet, however, a pro that does not make). Poor fella, his chest hairs will grow back. All else went very well. The Motion Clipper worked far beyond my expectations. That's why his chest has a big bald spot on it. I did not expect it to cut so smoothly and powerfully. Honestly!! It just cut through the hair without any resistance and the clipper never made a sound as if it was struggling/straining to cut. Anyway, after the chest, which was the first place I started, I slowed down and was far more careful with the clipper. The adjustable blade was fantastic for trimming around his head, face, paws and sanitary areas. Smooth, quiet and very efficient; never a snag or pull of the hair. I then used a few different attachments for his back, sides and hind legs. The clipper never, ever groaned. It just kept on cutting without effort. There is much truth from the other reviewers that say it's like a hot knife through butter. It took me about 1.5 hours to trim our Springer and I never placed the clipper on a charger and it ran great the entire time.Final positive points:1. Quiet2. Powerful3. Adjustable4. Feels solid in your hand5. Is easy to hold and use (I took the little finger piece off - it got in the way of rotating the clipper in my hand).6. Holds a charge7. Charges fast (and works great with the 220 - 120 volt transformer charge)8. It just makes you feel confident because it so well builtAnd lastly - the blade never got hot!! I didn't use any cool sprays or extra oil during the grooming process and the blade was always at a comfortable temperature. I even touched it after clipping the sides and hind legs to see if it got warm or hot.....not even a little bit.Yes, I'm a rookie groomer, but I highly recommend this clipper; at least for the home groomer. I cannot attest to how well it would work in a professional, constant use scenario. And our Springer's chest hair is growing back. Good luck with your clipper research!

Very quiet, very precise
I just received this clipper yesterday. I got to work bathing and grooming our Malti-poo today. I had purchased another inexpensive clipper that was supposed to be low noise. It wasn’t. The whole grooming experience was much more pleasurable for me and the dog with the new clipper. It is really quiet. The results were noticeably better. This clipper feels really comfortable in the hand and was very maneuverable. I had more precise control of the length of the cut and no tracks. It comes with 6 comb attachments. The hair does not stay stuck to the base of the cutting blade. Cleaning under the cutting blade is a breeze and it is well made. I really like the scissor grip feature. The on/off button is well located for one handed operation. There was more that enough battery time to get the job done. It is plenty powerful enough for my needs as a home groomer. The cordless feature makes it even nicer to use. It is a quality product. Having tried less expensive clippers before purchasing these I think it is safe to say you get what you pay for. This is money well spent.

New Wahl clipper won't SHUT OFF!
I am a home groomer for 9 years, we have 2 poodles. Initial response was what a great machine, super quiet, cuts like butter, effortlessley, and feels wonderful in the hand. At first I thought the grip was a gimmich, but 2nd time i used it, i found my grip embracing the ring hole easily. Still to be seen if it prevents dropping or if I drop trying to get my finger out of the ring while changing positions. But what I hated the most, was after using a 2nd time, the machine changed speeds for some reason. I didn't think it has 2 speeds, but when i pressed the green button it only slowed momentarily and then sped up when released. I COULD NOT TURN IT OFF. Finally I got the charger stand out and placed the clipper in it and it stopped. Total time on the machine was about an hour to 1 1/2, but the light never changed colors. If this keeps happening will be very disappointed.

Groomed them myself with this razor!
Never groomed a dog before, but I have inherited 2 Shih Tzu's and it costs me a fortune to have them both groomed. So I bought this after seeing a you tube video using this razor. Looked like it cut easily, and it does. It works so easily i groomed both dogs and they look pretty good. So I only have to grim them once more and the razor had paid for itself. It cost me what having them both groomed twice would have cost. I saved gas for the car and I can do it when it's convenient for me. This is easy to use, doesn't frighten either dog because it's pretty quiet and has a long charge. I groomed them both on one charge. I would recommend this to anyone interested in buying a shaver for grooming did. I bought another one before this but this runs circles around the first one. I don't remember which one that was, I'm not at home to look and see.. Don't cheap out, but a decent razor it really does make a difference.
