Definitely strong an with the hook i use it to pull my tools or a buck up to the rooftop when Doing an HVAC maint on a system, strong rope, strong clip... even ordered a 2nd. Haven't tried with a magnet yet. Will definitely try...

* Laughing the carabiner broke off, We did use it with a tarp as a wind screen. About 15 mph wind kinda tore off one side. The other side held firm and was a trooper.
