I learned of the Oak Island story about 6 years ago and have a bookshelf filled with books about it. This one is my favorite. D'arcy has done a lot of research and conducted a lot of first person interviews which shows in this well rounded book. It's a great 1st book about Oak Island, as it summarizes all the searches from beginning through the Triton Alliance (not yet updated to cover the Michigan gang, the Laginas, the subjects of the 2014/2015 TV show on Oak Island), and is well written. I liked it so much I bought one as a gift for someone who knows nothing about Oak Island.

Very interesting…
…especially for a fan of the show. But interesting for just someone who loves histories and mysteries.

For anyone interested in ancient building and knowledge I would recommend this book.
I found this book fascinating. Read it in one day then bought" The Mystery of the Oak Island Treasure ". Have not read it yet but I hope it is just as good. Many people dismiss this site as developing over hundred of years of natural formation. I find that hard to believe. The ancient peoples had a great understanding ofphysics so I am sure the hydraulic factors of the flooding are man made and how in the world they did it is simply amazing. I wouldrecommend this book to otherswith the same type of interests inancient building. And what is inthere? That's the next questionthat I would love to find the answer to.

Overview of the history of the Oak Island money pit.
Pretty good overview of the "money pit" situation on Oak Island from the time it was first discovered up to the time this book was published. Full of verified history and several alternative theories on what may be at the bottom of the pit. Also includes some folklore or legends concerning the site. Not having watched the television series, I can't say whether there is anything new in this book that hasn't been covered by the "experts" on TV, but an interesting read.

Definitive history of a great mystery.
This is a very complete history of the Oak Island mystery. It seems to be very well researched and gives a complete chronological history of the search for treasure on Oak Island. Without being there it is very hard for me to understand how there could have been this much time and this much money spent on something with such meager results. It sounds like there were some very experienced and intelligent people involved over the many years but the way the story unfolds it almost sounds like they were a bunch of clowns. Surely with the scientific ground survey equipment that is available today it would be possible to see what is underground without having to dig a thousand "dry" holes? This book is a great way to get some understanding of this great mystery but it cannot give answers to this age old mystery.

"A fantastic treatise on this enigma"
The Secret Treasure of Oak Island"A fantastic treatise on this enigma"I very much enjoyed reading this book in order to become aware of this story which I have heard bits and pieces. The most recent was on a History Channel presentation "The Holy Grail in America (2009)." Here it is proposed the Knights Templar placed their treasure on this island. To my chagrin this was only mentioned on page 188 relating to many of the searchers were Freemasons searching for the Treasure of the Knights Templar. The book based chronologically is well written, but can be confusing at times if read in multiple sittings. It appears this is a definitive work on the story of "The Money Pit." Unfortunately, as a whirlwind of intrigue, it is a constant thriller without an ending by 2004.

Interesting book to read
The book is interesting. It gives a lot of background on the history of Oak Island. It helps explain the TV series on the History Channel. I have not finished the book yet but I like what I've seen so far.

Extremely detailed book on the history of Oak Island
Having heard of Oak Island a few years ago, and more recently started watching "The Curse of Oak Island" on the History Channel I was interested to learn more. Fortunately this book is very detailed, as it goes through the history of the various attempts to excavate the illusive "Money Pit" and even touches on the majority of theories behind who buried something on the Island, what might be buried there and why it was buried. One theory it completely omits however is the Knights Templar. I finished reading the book in 24 hours, finding it hard to put down and I thoroughly enjoyed it.One thing though, is that the book was published in 2004. And so I am left with 10 or so years of missing information, however I don't think anything of significance happened on Oak Island during that time [that hasn't been shown on "The Curse of Oak Island"].

Great book, super fast delivery.
I received the book about a week after ordering. Given that I live in Canada and the book was posted from England, I was very impressed. The book is a great insight into the Oak Island mystery, the author has done a great deal of research and each chapter keeps you riveted. Having watched numerous documentaries online and read several articles, I feel that the book leaves you with all of the information you could need on the subject. I couldnt recommend this book more.

All you need to know about the Money Pit Mystery
This is THE book to read about the famous Oak Island "Money Pit Mystery". It is a thorough and detailed account of the main facts with consideration of the main theories surrounding this iconic treasure hunt. I look forward to the final revelation about what was originally buried on Oak Island and why it was put there. I just couldn't put this book down from start to finish, even though I have already read three other books on the subject. This one is the best, I recommend you buy it, you won't be disappointed.
