Often thought of as a wild flower and weed, since it has been found growing on its own in railway stations, along road sides, and open fields. Very hardy and easy to grow directly sown outside. Returns from self sowing. Great for cut flowers, borders, filling in anywhere. Planted in mass they look like clouds of purple blowing in breeze. Very adaptable to many conditions.
Although this flower likes sun and partial sun, several people have reported they have grown in shade and still comes back every year. Enjoys cool conditions for optimum results. Produces an abundant amount of flowers and basically disease free. These silky charming old fashioned flowers are truly easy for anyone, especially since they grow in poor soil.
