Comic-book story
I bought this book because I liked the sound of it, and I expected it to be a serious book. However, when it arrived it was a picture-book, a comic-style book with lots of drawings and just a few words on each page - and a load of guff and nonsense about ghosts coming back on prairie winds. If you're after a proper account of this family's story - the way it was written made me begin to think it may be all made up? - then don't buy this book. It's really irritating that it's just like a comic.

Curioso y entretenido
Más que un cómic es una novela. Eso sí, con muchas ilustraciones y muchos esquemas y mapas que ayudan a entender mejor la historia. Muy entretenido. Espero que estén disponibles el resto de la colección dentro de poco.

The Hipster Says--The "Treasury of Victorian Murder' series does not disappoint.
Geary has opened a chapter in history in a very accessible way with this graphic novel series. And "The Bloody Benders" is a fine addition to the series, recounting th history of a family of robber/murderers in the West that kill by stealth, & could easily appear in today's headlines. Their disappearance as mysterious as their lives.Geary's art & writing improve steadily as time goes by, & while the first volumes in the series are very, very good, this one has a fine polish to it.If you like it, try these-- The Big Book of the Weird Wild West: How the West was Really Won! Excellent source of historical crime tales
The Rick Geary series of crime graphic histories are interesting, well illustrated and of good quality. Clearly, he has performed in-depth research on each of the cases, and clearly states what is known and what is not known for sure. He makes the history easier to understand by describing the setting and local history for each of the stories. He provides well drawn maps, and draws period illustrations that are close to what actually existed at the time of the tale. For those with an interest in the macabre, this series is well worth buying.

Five Stars
Rick Geary has taken yet another early historic tale and made it live again. Very well done!
