Best Value Out There
If you are a value buyer like myself, there is no better knife to use. We have purchased various high quality knives for our home over the years, mainly Wosthof and Henckels that varied from $100 up to several hundred each. Then I started a farming business about ten years ago where we processed our own chickens on the farm. I had about 15 employees on processing days and we had a Department of Agriculture approved operation directly on the farm. I had to make buying decisions for knives and wanted something durable, not extremely expensive, and something that would hold the sharpness well so I didn't have employees always having to sharpen knives. We discovered several Victorinox knives became the favorites among ourselves and all the staff. They were dirt cheap compared to alternatives and they held up better than anything else we used. They were razor sharp and you could count on them holding that sharpness throughout the processing day. We used to go through about 700-1000 chickens per processing day. If we did need to sharpen them, it required a few swipes across the steel and it was right back to razor sharp. When our Wusthof knives started developing cracks on the handles as others have experienced, I remembered how well these Victorinox knives held up on our farm. So I searched for a kitchen set from them and found these. So far, we love them and they have that same feel and sharpness that all those other knives had. From a price vs. functionality vs. longevity standpoint, I'll take these all day long over paying several hundred dollars for a Wusthof or Henckels and having to treat it like a baby so the handles don't crack. I've also never had a Wusthof be able to sharpen up as quickly as these Victorinox knives to. After a lot of experience with knives in different settings, I feel like my sharpening skills are almost professional. These knives are just so much easier to keep sharp and get that razor edge back than any of the more expensive brands we've used. Love them.

Great set.
This set is incredible! Very sharp, easy to handle, many different uses. The only thing I found strange was the wooden storage block (counted as one of the 15 member set) was not made specifically for the 14 knives. There are 3 more openings that stay empty for knives that aren’t there. Otherwise, it looks nice, but takes up a lot of counter space.

Sharp knifes, base handles, scissors come apart too easily
I am 95% pleased with this. I understood that the Swiss Army line uses inexpensive handles to keep the price point down and affordable. The handles are very durable, they are comfortable for me. Because Amazon stocks and ships these, I understand that the condition of the box is not something the manufacturer can control. The wood block is real wood. The slots are oversized. The 15 piece set has 3 extra slots. The current image does not fully represent how to arrange the knifes. I adjusted them to make sense for me. The knifes are sharp and sturdy. Easy to use and clean. The scissors have a poorly designed hinge. They separate too easily. At first I thought something broke. Then I looked at the hinge and realized it is designed to make the blades easy to separate for cleaning. This is why I am not 100% happy with the set. It is inconvenient to have the scissors come apart and fall when opening them. This could be dangerous if a blade ends up piercing into my foot.

Sharp & light
Been using this for 5 years. Great set. Super sharp, even now. No rust. Lightweight, thin, & strong. Slices easily though just about everything. Highly recommend.

Best knives I've ever used
These are great knives. I let a couple of coworkers know that I needed to buy knives because the old cheap FaberWare set I bought from Walmart were falling apart. Two coworkers gave me suggestions, and both of them suggested Victorinox. When I initially unboxed the knives I was disappointed. They were really light and the metal blades were quite flexible. This made them seem cheap to me. Everything about them since that point has been awesome. My old Faberware knives would rust from the dishwasher. I had to get them out of the dishwasher ASAP or they would rust really bad. I have seen zero rust from these knives. Regarding sharpness, I thought my old FaberWare knives were pretty good and sharp, but the Victorinox knives make is seem like my old knife set was a set of spoons. These knives cut through everything effortlessly. It actually has an impact on how good the food is. My old knives would require quite a bit of pressure to cut meat. This causes the meat to compress. This compression seems to make the meat tougher and drier from squeezing out the juices. These knives go through meat like butter! I highly recommend.

Sharp, bad scissors
Super sharp - we’ve all cut our fingers they’re so sharp, but no complaints since the goal was sharp knives! Cuts were all user error as we all got used to sharp knives again after so many years with the old set! Would be 5 stars but the scissors fall apart every time we take them out of the holder - literally since before the first use; they’re just defective. (They’re meant to come apart for washing, but that doesn’t help if you don’t need to wash because they’re just not usable!) Our old set didn’t have scissors so not a huge issue, but just an annoyance - so I’d still buy them, as our primary focus was sharp knives not scissors! One other annoyance, as others note, the block has a few empty slots. With teenagers the block is never full anyway- but could be annoying to someone who wants it to look right on the counter. I had another knife from the same company but different pattern so we just leave the extra slots empty rather than mismatch. (They’re small slots, which is unfortunate since I wouldn’t mind buying extra of the larger knives, but how many paring knives does one need?!)

Love These Knives
The knives were great. Best set I've ever had! The actual knife block slots were not squarely cut, but it doesn't show once the knives are in. I do like the fact that they give you 3 extra slots to add a few different knives. I love the knives but I had a Chicago Cutlery Metro set before so that's probably why I think these are big improvement. I read some of the reviews and someone compared these knives to Shun. I checked the prices on these knives and one chef's knife was $150 while the Victorinox was $40. I don't think that's a fair comparison. Some reviewers also complained about the handles looking cheap but I didn't find that so. If you're looking for fancy handles, these aren't it. They're functional and comfortable to use and I get an even cut from my food. If you have large hands, you might find these not "chunky" enough but the handles are a decent synthetic.

Love these knives!
We just bought a new Airstream RV trailer to do road trips and rather than use old knives in the trailer, this was a great excuse to buy this set from Victorinox because my favorite knife is a Victorinox 8" chef's knife. That knife was highly rated by Cook's magazine. When I first got it, I thought it looked cheap because of the plastic handle, but I was wrong. Having used it now for several years, I love it (and I have other knives from companies such as Henckels, Hoffritz and Wusthof.) I love to cook and rely on good knives. This set has been excellent. Good balance in the hand, very sharp, and a nice variety of types of knives. I really liked having the steak knives in this set, too. (The steak knives are serrated.) The cutlery block holds everything well, and has a couple of extra slots. The only knife I really need to add to the set is a boning and/or filet knife. I had looked at other Victorinox knife sets, but this was a perfect variety of knives for what I needed.

Great set of knives. High quality.
Use it everyday in the kitchen. The knife block has more slots than knives so you can put some of your exisiting knives in there.

Increiblemente filosos
Excelente calidad y acabado.

Not as advertised
The block does not anything like the picture: It seems to have been made by someone who has never seen wood before and looks very cheap and low quality. The knives were wrapped in clingfilm and also look like poor quality: the join between blade and handle is rough and seems unfinished. All in all, greatly disappointed as I have never had any reason to doubt Victorinox. Can't help but feel that I was sent a cheap knock-off. Just another unsatisfactory Amazon experience...

Amazing set for the price
I thought the fibrox handles would be a bit of a negative but they actually look decent and are very practical. The blades are all great, very sharp out of the box and feel like they can last a lifetime. We'll be using them for many year no question.
