Hyde 1036 1-1/4" Black & Silver Bent Stiff Putty Knife

Had the same one of these for over 20 years and it had glazed a few hundred windows in that time. It had this magical ability to always find its way home when I misplaced it, making it almost a legend at work. Finally ran away for good when my toolbox was stolen but I was lucky to find another! Hopefully this one is as loyal as my old friend.

This so far has been great for applying and smoothing out window glazing putty. I seem to prefer it over a regular putty knife that's straight and somewhat flexible. The angle is helpful, especially at awkward positions when you have to leave the sash installed. It is stiffer than your average knife, it has almost no flex to it. I still prefer the Hyde 1.5" standard flex knife for applying the bedding. Also, the knife edge is blunt, it's not sharp at all. Still works great, but just so you know. Still a good purchase.

This putty knife is straight, not bent as it says in photo or picture.

I re-glazed 5 old crank style windows. I learned how on You Tube. This knife made it possible. Saved a fortune!Can you believe it the company that came and replaced the broken glass on one of the windows put it in with silicon sealant, but said he didn't know how to glaze these old windows! So, I did it myself!

This is exactly what it says it is. A stiff bent putty kinfe ment for glazing antique or antique style windows. Good for tight spaces. Durable plastic handle, arrived promptly and in good condition.
