My new edc
Perfect in every way. Replaced mini bugout as my edc. Just a little larger as what I was looking for . Liked going back the to the liner lock on this knife, it is by far the smoothest. Light enough, compact , buttery deployment and closing. Aesthetics are great. Kinda classic and straightforward. Ergo/Grip feels nice. Sharp. Don't care to much on steel differences as I care, and sharpen accordingly. Nice knife. Now gotta get a 1911 to match. 🤦♂️

Great price for a great knife
This is a great knife at any price. But for this price, it's beyond a bargain. This knife is extremely well-made in every way, with great fit and finish, and made with good steel. I would highly recommend this knife.

A cool little knife
A small, well-designed knife. Very handy and useful for everyday carry. Came plenty sharp and pocket clip works perfectly.

Outstanding value
I am so glad I caught this knife on sale. What can I say about Cold steel? Top notch quality, impressive build, good materials and a razor sharp blade. I haven't touched a cold steel knife that I didn't like. Worth every penny.

The Cold Steel 1911 Folder is a decent knife for the size and price
I used to be a big fan of Cold Steel's folders back in the 1990's. I loved the rendition of the Voyager line from back then (I guess I was in that group of people who liked their integrated clip design), and I felt like their knives had a little bit of heft in them. Then, they changed the way they had them made. What really did it for me is that the quality of their products got worse when they started to really have a lot of their products mass produced out of Taiwan. (Please note that this is not a slight on Taiwan or their factories/manufacturing companies: they are EXCELLENT at replicating what is PROVIDED TO THEM.) I think Cold Steel really started to cut corners on the quality of their folders at this point. Almost all of their Voyager folding knives could open smoothly with a flick of the wrist without the use of a thumb stud or some other assistance. But when they started to really expand on their manufacture overseas, they cut corners and the quality suffered. And of course, their prices just skyrocketed. Some people are super hardcore over Cold Steel, while I myself didn't care for what they were coming out with after they made their changes. I wasn't into a lot of the new designs they were coming out with (to me, they seemed to focus too much on outlandish looks rather than keep their simple designs and high functionality), and the knives were just never the same kind of quality to me after that. Any time I had tried or purchased a knife from them during this revamping period, there were always fair to poor details to the knives that were deemed as passing by their quality control. For me, it was like what they used to consider their own factory seconds became their general standard, which was disappointing. With all of that being said, this 1911 folding knife surprised me a bit. Granted, if it was just a touch larger (maybe 1/2 inch increase on the knife and handle?), it would be a great folder for me personally. The Griv-Ex handle feels secure in the hand. It feels good to hold, even if it gets wet. The deployment of the blade is smooth, and the stud is a good size and shape to not be intrusive while still function. The blade is sharp, and I appreciate this particular style of clip-point (I haven't had the need to sharpen this yet). The additional locking mechanism is nice to have, even though I am much more in the habit of just being mindful and careful whenever I handle any kind of knife. The only minor issue I have with it is that the pocket clip is just a bit too tight for me. But that was easily remedied with a pair of pliers. Are there better blade steels out there? Sure. Are there better quality knife handles? Certainly. But for the size and price of this knife, this is a decent knife to have on your person, in your backpack, your car, or where ever this would come in handy.

its good for the $17 I paid but nothing mind blowing, grip kinda sucks
The price is good and its cold steel at a tacforce price but I'm not a fan of the grip on it, I get the 1911 theme but it just doesnt feel good in my hand and theres like no room to get to the thumb stud to open it, theres no point in having one on it. Even after dremmeling the cut out more, its still close to imposible to get your thumb in there for a good flick. I also feel like for $5 more one might be better off with a kershaw blur or something simular in size price and weight so this item only gets 3 stars.. Most coldsteel items I love but Im not reviewing the brand Im reviewing this item.

Good balance when open. Secondary lock makes the blade solid. Nice size for the pocket and still be useful. I removed the clip because I just put in my pocket. Handle feels better without it. Handle fits my hand nicely for it's size. Good texture. Sharp out of box. Flipper works well, fast open. Thumb stud is a tough open.
