A lot more RO Water, and less water sent down the drain. Replace the 21 inch.

Just purchased this RO casing for my RO/DI window cleaning system. My last casing was made from ABS plastic purchased from ABC window cleaning. That system took a tumble and the plastic shattered. I knew the RO membrane was still good, so I took a chance on this casing. Very glad I did, this thing is solid and I have no doubts that if falls over, it will survive. My one complaint is they do not include the necessary plugs for a waterfed setup. Not a big deal to me as I had some on hand, still give it 5 stars

Let me start by saying the stainless steel housing is well-made. The price point was very good. The stainless steel housing end caps suck. One of them came cracked. The seller was great at sending me a new one however that uncovered a bigger problem. I spent an entire Saturday putting together an RODI system only to find the end caps didn’t fit the membrane. The weird thing is the new end cap that the seller sent me to replace the broken one did fit. After a dozen phone calls and driving an hour and a half away I finally found someone that could sell me another endcap which fit perfectly. It was just really aggravating hitting this snag. I’m sure the seller would’ve sent me another endcap but I didn’t have time to wait again. Beware when you buy this the end caps may not fit your 4040 membrane. Huge headache.

I’m not going to ding the design based off of how we use these. However it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me that they use 3/4” thread patterns when the output side can really only produce about 3 gallons of product per minute. They used to have 1/2” thread patterns while was a lot more universal. Oh well. It still works the way it should.

I have two of these. The steel housing itself is totally fine, but the ports on the endcaps are obviously oversized and are all somewhere between difficult and impossible to get sealed. I've tried various fittings and they all screw all of the way in with very little torque. The seller's advice was literally to just keep adding tape until it will actually tighten up, which is more than a little absurd. I ended up doing 6 wraps of blue monster (2-3x the normal number) and I still have seepage. Even if it actually worked, I'd consider it to be a bandaid at best. NPT fittings require strong thread engagement, and you're just not going to get that with extra layers of tape. Either the seller doesn't know, or just doesn't care enough to make their product right, and they seem to have zero interest in resolving this issue. You'll be better off spending a few more dollars and avoiding this altogether.

Trying to build a home made reverse osmosis for maple syrup production, I bought a total of 3 such tubes. Installed membranes and operated well to about 100psi. At 125, concentrate would poor in clear water outlet. I thought I had a membrane failure and got zero support from vendor. In the end, I discovered that, although very tight at insertion, the O-rings manage to roll out as pressure increases causing complete loss of pressure. Also found that plastic caps crack when screwing NPT fittings. In turn, all caps suffered the O-ring issue and 3 out of 6 caps cracked. I converted those tubes to expensive membrane storage cases. This product is not meant to be used with water pressure and RO is all about pressure. Not recommended.
