Cushy, Happy Homes for My Feet
I just bought these slippers for the second time after my first pair started to give out after three years of use. They feel good, they are warm, and they work well. They might not last forever, but they hold together for a good, long time. These slippers feel great on my feet. I walk on a lot of wood and tile floors at home, and these slippers have a great, supportive, cushioning sole. From inspecting the soles on my first pair of these, I can see that there is the outer sole, then a dense foam piece, then a cushy foam piece, and then the fleece liner. All of that adds up to no foot or back pain for me as I shuffle around the house. These fellas are warm. The fat cushion under the foot keeps the cold from penetrating from below. Then, the fairly stiff, wool-blend upper hugs the feet with the warmth you’d expect from thick wool. And oh my, it’s Italian wool too - must be good, right?I like how these slippers perform. The sole is good and grippy and won’t let anything wet get through. I can take the garbage out to the garage and not worry about the wet, salty mess on the floor - the sole keeps me nice and dry. Also, the elastic around the top help give the slippers a good, snug fit too - you can wiggle them on and off, but you don’t have to worry about them just falling off on their own.Okay, now the downside. They do eventually wear out. First thing I saw was that the wool upper on one side wore out down to some foam piece. Upon further inspection, there are several spots where the wool is worn thin. Also, the handsome suede leather trim has begun to separate in a few spots from where it is stitched onto the outer sole. But keep in mind, this wear happened over three years of almost-daily use. I estimate over three thousand hours was spent in these puppies before they were retired (yes, I agree, that is a lot of time spent in slippers). Overall, I think the useful life of this product is just fine.If you are looking for good slippers with a good cushion, then these just might be the ones for you.

toasty warm comfort
An excellent slipper,, or as my mother describes them vis a vis usage, house shoes. I do not wear street shoes in my house & go out only a few days a month. (Yes, I am one of those people described as house-bound.) The upside - I am a connoisseur of slippers. One that lasts more than six months with me is one that most folks will be able to wear until their retirement. I have only had these for one week - which I equate with at least a month of normal use. The fit is comfortable, kind of like an old comfy sweater mounted on a pillow. The cushioning rebounds to its original state just minutes after removing them, so each time I put them on they fit as comfortably as the first time I tried them on. I wear a Women's size 9E shoe - yes we all have wide feet in my family to go with our tendency to flat feet. A Men's size 7-1/2 provides enough length. The M width is roomy enough for my broad foot. When I have purchased Men's slippers in the past, I have had to go with a C width, so these were a gamble that has really paid off. There is no arch support, per se. However, the very very cushiony foam that is the foot bed conforms to the contour of you foot and cradles it beautifully. If the performance and durability of these slippers hold up, I will be back to raise the rating from 4 to 5 stars.July, 2016My first pair of these slippers became too stretched out for me to wear any longer. They were still in excellent condition, but a medical episode resulted in my feet becoming more than 2x their normal size & the knit body of the slippers just could not come back from that distortion. I resisted replacing them for a good 4 months becuase they were otherwise in such excellent condition still. But, I finally convinced myself to be rational and get new slippers than fit well. And they do, and they are as much a pleasure to wear as ever. I think these shall be my first choice for slippers from now on.

My wide footed husband is now a fervid slipper wearer!
I research the heck out of everything before I buy it. My husband says I'm obsessed. I prefer the term "thorough". He wanted slippers that had a heel to them. He just doesn't wear the kind that are open in the back. He has several pairs already. Being the "thorough" person I am, I made a list and started my research. My criteria:- He has a wide foot is super picky about what shoes he wears. I needed these to be big enough without being so big that they slip off. - These have elastic on either side to make it fit better. I read the reviews and got 1 size bigger than his normal shoe size. Good choice. They fit perfectly!- I wanted something that could be worn outside so he couldn't weasel out of taking the trash out or getting the mail because his slippers were only indoors. But I didn't want to have that hard plastic bottom that most slippers have that don't bend when you walk! These were perfect on both accounts!- They had to be washable. Let's face it. Anything you wear without socks is going to get stinky after a while! There are very few slippers that can be washed and this is one of them.My husband absolutely LOVES these slippers - even more than I thought he would. Heck, he even tells me quite often "I love my slippers....". Weirdo....He gets home from work and puts them on immediately. He has NEVER been a hard core slipper wearer like this before! Never! He says that they have great support and are warm but not too warm, super comfy and soft. Seriously though, even though these do cost more than your run of the mill slippers, they are worth it. Trust me.
