Great Brushes that do the Job at a reasonable price.
These are very good albeit small brushes. The packaging clearly states they are for small projects. However they are perfect for the space you need to work with in painting detail wood work or applying wax. One is a paint brush and the other is a waxing brush. They are of fine workmanship and a great steal at a fraction of the cost. I just ordered 2 more packages so my husband could have his own brushes. We use the paint brush for getting chalk paint into detail work and applying dark wax to projects then wipe it off with an old t-shirt or cloth. I also wanted another wax brush that we can share for the clear wax which we normally have been using t-shirts to apply but would like to add this since it is a cheap, high-quality solution. (We've had one noticeable bristle fall out of the waxing brush while doing a large project, kitchen table with 4 chairs.) The size of the brush did not affect the speed that we could work much if at all.For $40 we have 6 brushes of equal quality and price to the 1 name-brand waxing brush at the local shop. (Their larger brush was $52.) We'll keep paying the small premium for the paints and wax and buffing cloths that we get there, but now that we've found these, we do not need to pay the exorbitant price of their brushes. It's a brush, people!

Great for small jobs!
These little guys worked great for the project I did. The only thing i noticed was a few brissles did come off while wanting so I had to get them off by hand but otherwise great for my small furniture painting

Love this gadget
I love to paint. Give me a paintbrush or a spray can and I'm happy as can be. I'm always looking for new toys in the painting department and found a doozy in this one. Naturally, I do a lot of distressing as that's the current style...and a style i love, by the way. This tool, though, means I can "distress" to my heart's content indoors! There's no sanding required. Dip this simple woodblock in a very small amount of paint and gently swipe it where you would expect to see distressing. Voila! No more making your arm sore using sandpaper on a large project. Add another color, if you like, for that layered distressed effect. It does take a bit of practice at first, but once you get it down, it's such a time saver. Plus, you don't have to layer all those colors under the entire project to get the proper effect. Clean up is easy...soap and water. And yes, it works well with chalk type paints.

Satisfied
These work pretty well for the price.I am a novice at painting furniture and applied chalk paint on two side tables. The smaller painting brush held up well through a *lot* of painting (I was painting very dark furniture a much lighter color so I needed many coats.).I saw a stray bristle here and there but the brush worked great and easily applied paint to tight, small corners. When I went to do a coat of wax, I noticed bristles every couple of minutes. I saw someone comment that this happens in the beginning so hopefully the loose bristles will come out and then I won't have that issue anymore.I've never used another brand so I can't compare, but I think these brushes do a satisfactory job for the price range.

I'm in the process of using chalk paint to paint our kitchen cabinets. While it's a tedious process, I know the results will be worth it in the end. I needed a brush to apply the wax to the finished project and ended up getting this set from Plaid. It's a great set! It came with two brushes for the price of what others were charging for one brush. The brushes are stiff (which is what you want when you are working with wax or stenciling) and easy to clean. I didn't notice any bristles loosening while using it (I tugged on them beforehand to make sure). I liked that there was a circular sized wax brush and also a brush that wasn't as wide and thinner. That brush made it easier to get wax into smaller areas of my cabinets. I will be using these brushes to do a couple of other smaller chalk paint projects as well as a piece of furniture I plan to refinish. These would also make great brushes for stenciling (which I also do a lot of) so I plan to get another set!

This sums it up .
I couldn’t fathom how there was such an extreme contradiction in terms of some people saying there is no shedding at all and others said it shed non stop - well I now have my answer . The brush initially is fantastic - smooth brush strokes ect , it’s when your painting something larger - in my case a large desk that has a lot of area to cover . Because chalk paint has that texture we love once applied - it also dries rather quickly -and in this instance turns from delight to disaster. As soon as I started to experience the shedding - I used a different brush - had I continued- my whole project would have been a bust . I washed the brush immediately after use prior to finishing , and it was very apparent that the bristles had breakage , fell out , or were damaged from the paint - sooooooo, if you are using it for a 5 minute paint job , you will love this brush - anymore than that , Im sorry to say it would need to be washed in intervals and probably wouldn’t serve the same purpose as you bought it for - regardless hairs will start to fall out as soon as the paint drys even a little bit - so setting a timer will save you a mess and frustration!

Wonderful feeling and beautiful handle!
I really have not had the opportunity to use this brush yet, but I'm very excited to get to do so! The handle is beautiful and has a wonderful feel to it!

Perfect for Crafting Large Pieces
What I like about this brush is having more control since you are holding it closer to the bristles. Your hand becomes one with the brush and it doesn't get as tired when working on bigger projects. Really like working with this brush.

Shedding
On first use itself its shedding alot. Sticking to furniture and spoiling the paint. brush strokes visible. Dont recommend it for such a price

Best used for small projects
Purchased these brushes to chalk paint and wax a jewelry box. Each brush, from top to bottom, is about the length of a hand. They aren’t huge, but they worked for my small project. I wouldn’t attempt to paint a dresser with these. You’d need a much bigger brush.
