My favorite upgrade.
Easy to install, have stayed sturdily in place for 8 months now (and I've placed my car in some pretty rough spots). Its clearly made to fit the rav4 and was not too hard to install. Definetly need a few tools, and its always annoying to do any wiring on vehicles, but once you get it done it seems to be good for life. Love that they turn on by themselves when you open the trunk, was not expecting that.Lights themselves are also just what you want. Bright enough so you can see at night but not at all an eyesore, don't even notice them during the day (I'm wondering if the even turn on during the day, couldn't say). Maybe a more tactile on/off button would be nice, but that's just nitpicking. This is a great product.

Great Addition to RAV4
Worked well for my 2023 RAV4 Hybrid XLE. Lights snapped into place in the tailgate perfectly. Wiring does take a little time and effort to route, but well worth it in my opinion. I went pretty slow - I'm paranoid about wires rubbing through and shorting out, so I secured all the new wiring with zip ties as best I could, avoiding placing wires near rough metal edges. Lights are plenty bright, they are a major improvement over the 1 weak stock light. I recommend them, but if you aren't super confident about installing them yourself, find an online video detailing the process.

Looks OEM, watch installation videos
While there are instructions supplied with the set, they may as well not exist for their usefulness so watching videos on YouTube are a must - just search "Rav4 cargo hatch light install" to find several versions. The most frustrating part of the process is feeding the wires through the grommet between the hatch and rear of the vehicle...it *can* be done, just take your time so as not to tear through the grommet or break any wiring it already contains. The left grommet has a lot more space, as the right grommet has only enough room for the washer line and you don't want to damage that. I used a piece of copper electrical wiring to feed through; bend a small hook on one end, turn that hook into a loop containing the wires to pull and just slowly work it back through, and its easier to do so after unseating the grommet from both ends and roll it back onto itself to make it shorter. Frequent hand-washing to remove the 'grease' used around the weather stripping and using some trim removal tools will also help things go more smoothly.A caveat for newer vehicles that *don't* have a toggle switch on the existing trunk light - it does eventually go out after an hour, but instead of waiting or blowing fuses on connection here's a modification to the procedure:1. Pry the existing trunk light out, pop the panels on the right side containing it and let it dangle out of the hole. Go slow when popping the blue retainers as they can go flying.2. Wire up your new rear lights to everything *except* the existing trunk light and power connection. I'd suggest leaving the trunk panels off until you can verify all connections are working.3. Use a wire or piece of weed trimmer line to fish the new wiring harness from behind the popped panels and out the hole to the existing light, but do not connect them yet.4. Close the trunk, flip the rear seats forward and reach back to access the exposed rear light, making sure it turned off once the trunk was closed.5. Now connect the new harness to the existing light and power source. You can let them dangle and reopen the trunk to verify your connections are working. If everything is correct, your new lights will also work once the trunk opens.6. After verifying all connections, now you can button everything up using cable ties and double-sided foam tape to secure the loose wires and prevent rattles. The panels just pop right back on once everything is lined up for a clean, seamless look.Once installed these look OEM and should come as a standard feature. The 30 mins or so it takes to install them is well worth the vastly improved amount of lighting you get out of them.

Lights are great - Lack of Instructions make a simple job very difficult, to the point of returns
The lights earn 5 stars, the ratings don't go low enough for the "instructions". In hindsight, this actually IS simple IF there were decent instructions. They refer to a YouTube video but good luck finding it. I couldn't. The seller who corrects this significant shortcoming is going to get the buyers. There are 4 or 5 videos done by various people who have purchased the kit. Each contains bits and pieces of useful info. A few are better than the others. No one video covers it adequately for us folks without experience, in my opinion. Their efforts to try to do what the mfg should have done were very helpful. The panels are fairly simple if you have a couple of panel removal tools (don't come with it). One flat sturdy plastic wedge 4-7" long with abt 1/2" wedge to remove the factory cargo light and the two small panels in the hatch that are replaced by the lights. Another approx. 8" long with 1-2" wedge, for the top left corner of the passenger side panel above the cargo light. A short shank with a hook, to fish the wires up thru the hole in the body so they can be fed thru the rubber grommet. The most important one, something to pull the wires up thru the rubber grommets. The better videos show this.Suggestions:a) Lay it all out in the cargo area so you can understand what goes where. There are two loose wires with a separate loose plastic plug. Insert them in the plug for what comes next then pull them back out so you can feed them thru the grommet. Make sure they can't come in contact with one another (wedge a small piece of tape between them if needed). Connect everything that came with the kit. Unplug the wires from the cargo light and plug their male connector into the female connector that feeds electricity to the new lights to test they work before you try to install. Then unplug the male connector power feed and disconnect everything in the kit. Don't reconnect the power until all else is done.b) Pull the top left of the panel above the cargo light loose, not off. Several videos show this. Easier to feed the wire down to the cargo light opening.c) The biggest challenge is feeding the wires thru the rubber grommet between the hatch and body. All videos fail to show it adequately. Use the left grommet, it's much larger than the right. You are going to need something to pull the wires up thru the grommet. One video uses a steel USB cable. Another a tool with a clasp to grasp the wires. The list goes on. Doesn't require a fishing kit. There is a slight slice in the rubber on the bottom of the left grommet. I saw no hole. I opened the slice up another 1/4" (well below where it connects to the body). Then pushed a fairly stiff unzipped zip tie about 18" long, pointed end first, up thru the grommet. Then used electrical tape to secure the two loose wires and their connectors to the zip tie. Starting about 3" forward of the zip tie latch and up to the latch. This increased the diameter gradually up to the zip tie latch. Caution: tape over the the two wire connectors AND their wires so they don't get pulled off their wires as they're pulled thru. The long stiff zip tie allowed me to push and pull the wires thru while trying to keep the rubber grommet semi straight.d) The 3 large panels on the inside of the hatch come off easily as shown in the videos that show this. Go back on easy.

Plug and Play
Watch the YouTube video on the install. This adds a touch of luxury to your Highlander. it's a perfect fit and finish. Panel removes easily to access the harness and to facilitate the install. You'll be glad you did this modification.

No instruction, not easy to install and used product received
I should have checked the reviews before purchasing this product. It came with no instructions at all, which made installation extremely frustrating.I spent over 3 hours outside in over100F weather trying everything I could—searching Google, watching YouTube videos, opening all my trunk panels and fishing wires through the vehicle—but I still couldn't get the lights to work. In the end, the fuse blew. The installation video is misleading. It makes the process look simple and straightforward, but the actual installation is much more difficult than shown. To make matters worse, the product I received did not appear to be new. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this product.

Best accessory for my 2026 Sienna!
Out of everything I’ve bought, this is the most worthwhile. Fits perfectly, super bright, and great price! Installation is tricky for beginners. Used it for a few months with zero issues—hopefully it lasts long-term!

Perfect fit and adds great lighting to the rear area.
I have a 2025 Toyota Sienna and these lights is exactly what I needed. Before these lights, it’s harder to see in the rear area. This light is also perfect for tailgating and love the touch on/off feature. The texture is slightly different from the factory panels but hardly noticeable and can pass as OEM. Fitment is great and installation is not too difficult.

Easy to install.
This product is excellent. It brightened up my trunk. The Rav 4 comes with a tiny not very bright trunk light. This light set took care the problem.

Incorrect cable connectors - makes kit useless
Ordered this product wanting more light in the back of my car, especially since it is dark 3/4 of the year as far north in the UK as I live. The Y harness fit perfectly fine. However, the wire harness that was supposed to connect to the OEM cargo light power line and provide power to both the hatch lights and the cargo light...was incorrect. The cable connectors were the wrong type and size - completely useless. Not even remotely compatible with the 2019 cable sockets. I am not confident enough to splice or attempt anything like that as I am not an electrically trained individual - but I was confident enough to attempt this basic car mod because it would improve my quality of life.I am extremely disappointed and wary of similar offerings now.

It is easy to instal and fits great on my Toyta Rav4 hybrid 2019
I love the lights, they are really bright, they are easy to instal and made me really happy. I can see much more that I imagine, because it is amazing bright. It comes with all we need to install. Thank you very much, if you need a bright light on your trunk that is the one.
