Refreshing
I really enjoyed this book. As someone who is a big fan of Women Who Run with the Wolves,I found this book not only to be a great refresher of many of those core principles around intuition, authenticity, and reclaiming your inner voice, but also a unique and modern take on them. The writing flows beautifully, making it a real pleasure to read it feels conversational, honest, and engaging throughout. Although Iโm not a religious person anymore, I still found the book funny and very relatable, even when she talks about her past experiences with Christianity. Her reflections feel human and accessible rather than preachy, which made it easy to connect with her story. Overall, itโs an inspiring and thoughtful read that stayed with me.

Incredible!!!!!
Ok, this is my new favourite book!!!!!!!!!! When reading this book, I had so many realisations about things in my mind & in the world. I think I highlighted something in every single chapter, even whole pages!! I felt like the words that I were reading were pretty much my own words, I resonated with some many things in this book. Glennon talks about what it's like to truly love and trust your whole self and about how to find it by listening to our bodies & mind, she talks about how society is shaping and affecting the way woman see & feel about themselves. We are taught by society, how to be, feel, act, look and we don't even realise it. Boys are still being taught that real men are big, violent, invulnerable, disgusted by femininity, and responsible for conquering women and the world. When girls are still being taught that real women must be quiet, pretty, small, passive and desirable so they'll be worthy of being conquered. We are all caged , this book is about how to get out of that cage. A few words I've loved in this book; โจFreedom is not being for or against an ideal, but creating your own existence from scratch โจWe need to be brave, brave is not asking the crown what is brave. Brave is deciding for oneself โจWe should not owe each anything other than admiration, respect and love โจSelf love means that I have a real relationship with myself built on trust and loyalty. I trust myself to have my own back, so my allegiance is to the voice within. I'll abandon everyone else's expectations of me before I'll abandon myself. I'll disappoint everyone else before I'll disappoint myself. I'll forsake all other before I'll forsake myself. What the world needs is more women who have quit fearing themselves and started trusting themselves. What the world needs is masses of women who are entirely out of control. If you haven't read this book then you NEED TO RIGHT NOW!!! ๐คฉ๐๐

Believe the Hype
I have consciously avoided this book because come on if its pushed by celebrities it's bound to be shallow and trite...right? WRONG!! In Glennon I found my people. Short snappy chapters filled with glistening gems of wisdom and truth waiting to be discovered. I spent half my time planning who I should give this book to and the other half remembering its my job to do me and let others do them. Thank you Glennon Doyle from the deepest part of my soul, for helping me remember that those deep pits of depression, those body shaking anxiety attacks are the essence of helping create the human that is me. My Knowing can be trusted.

Didnโt match the hype for me...
Before starting this blog Iโd never heard of Glennon Doyle before, then came to learn she is Abby Wambachโs wife and it pricked my attention along with all the hype it is getting. โโโโโโโโ It touches on a variety of subjects aside of her own experiences such as divorce, sexuality, blended families, raising children, racism, activism, spirituality, feminism, addiction and mental health. * Glennon tells the second half of her story in her latest book, in a way that is quite raw and honest. Whilst also acting as a self-help book. For me part 1 and 2 came across a little preachy and I didnโt feel I learnt/was enlightened much by its content throughout. * I have to say that Glennon and Abbyโs story does pull on the old heartstrings and is a fairytale in some respects, which I appreciated and enjoyed. * All in all not a bad book, yet not one Iโll rave about to others. However, it is a book full of energy and passion in the authors writing, a bit of a rallying call (for the right audience). โโโโโโโโโ Key take aways: - What is most important is what you think of yourself and being the best version of you (that you can be) - Pleasing others doesnโt always lead to pleasing yourself - Pain can fuel revolution (change) - Form your own values rather than those set by social constructs - Life isnโt easy but it sure as hell can be worth it, by focusing on what you want it to be and letting go of fairytales and expectations

Such a gorgeous, important book
This was such a brilliant, beautiful book. I read it along with listening to the audiobook recorded by Glennon herself and I would recommend both formats - it's powerful hearing her read her own words and also useful to be able to go back and reread, highlight and make notes on the physical copy! I found that I took so much away from reading this and I immediately passed it on to my mum to read too. I can tell I will be gifting it to other important people in my life. Glennon, you have helped me to see the importance of working out what the most beautiful, loveliest version of myself is and made me feel like it's okay to work towards that. And your words from the primary school classroom, 'we can do hard things', have helped me so much in dealing with my depression and helping loved ones with their own struggles. Thank you for reminding me it's okay to just sit outside their door while they feel their feelings and be there for them when it's time. And thank you for writing so beautifully about your love for Abby and for your children. As someone who hopes to have a family one day with a woman who I love, your writing has given me glimpses into a life I could never have dreamed was possible only a short while ago - and made me feel that it is okay for me to pursue and build and defend that life. Thank you, thank you

This book could save your life!
Every woman I know needs to read this book! I donโt often do book reviews but every so often one comes along and just slaps you round the heart with its brilliance. I literally read it in 24 hours and couldnโt put it down. Itโs part memoir of Glennonโs life and how she found the courage to leave her husband to marry a woman; Abby, the love of her life, navigating all this with three young children and how they have all created one big family together co- parenting, which is amazing in itself but itโs so much more than that, itโs a story about freeing ourselves from the cages we women find ourselves in when we live for other people instead of our own truth. Itโs a guide to find your way back to yourself and to keep choosing yourself over and over again until you are free from those cages. Itโs a beautiful, funny, heartbreaking story about love and loss and courage and wisdom and addiction and anxiety and truth and life. If you read one book this whole lock down, make this it. โYou are here to decide if your life, relationships and world are true and beautiful enough for you. And if they are not and you dare to admit they are not, you must decide if you have the guts, the right - perhaps even the duty - to burn to the ground that which is not true and beautiful enough and get started building what is.โ - Glennon Doyle ๐

Unmissable. Heartbreaking. Insightful. BUY THIS BOOK!
Iโm just over half way through this book but I couldnโt wait a moment longer to leave a 5 star review. This is a book for the ages. A masterpiece of contextual thinking. One that makes you feel everything, think differently about everything and bask in the genius and sensitivity of the literary delivery. I learned about Glennon on Brenรฉ Browns podcast, which was beyond interesting, but contained only really a glimpse of her deep insight and inspiring humility. This book is a collection of stories, metaphors and musings that could not be more relevant to the current socio-cultural climate. I am learning, growing and feeling deep grace with every page I read. If you are sitting there trying to decide whether to purchase this book - you must! It is an investment in yourself, your family and your role in the future of humanity. Thank you Glennon for such a groundbreaking piece of work. ๐๐ป

Perfect condition, but mailing was a little slow
Book came in perfect condition, but it was a few days later than the estimate given. It's worth keeping that in mind if you order, as the books ship from the UK.

I'm Not Alone
During the past several months, four of my female clients read "Untamed" and highly recommended it to me. As their therapist, It is important to me to connect with books which not only resonate with my clients but which also advance their wellbeing. After reading "Untamed," my clients shared their feelings with me: "I'm not alone. I always felt that something was wrong with me...I felt I didn't fit into what was expected of me... and I felt it was my fault. It feels so good to know that Glennon felt that way too...and she changed herself and her life." Because I had time this last weekend, I ordered the book and couldn't put it down. As I work to help my clients step out of their "cages" - whether they find themselves in abusive relationships, or believing their self-shaming life messages, or contorting themselves to fit into what our culture, society, and social norms tell them to be- I found Glennon's messages to be a powerful force of encouragement, validation, and affirmation. Women need to know they are not alone - that others suffer too and that others "do hard things" to change their lives. Thank you, Glennon, for this beautiful, inspirational, and deeply needed book.
