I use this to hold a small, plastic cutting board in place on a Formica counter. The mat stays in place on the counter, and the cutting board stays in place on the mat! No more chasing the cutting board, or having it slide around as I try to chop onions! Easy to clean, wipes clean with a damp cloth. Perfect!

This non slip mat is perfect, you put it directly on your counter and place your cutting mat/board on top of it. ZERO movement if my cutting mat when i use this safety non-slip mat. Safety is priority and setting up safety in how I/you set up how you will using a knife in your kitchen is the first priority. It's 100% waterproof I handwash with soap and water there's no need to subject it to the heat involved with a dishwasher. It is perfect. Not cute but it's nice to be reminded of the purpose of this safety may when it's visible without my cutting mat on top of it you know. It's not there to be cute it's there to keep you safe. Absolutely satisfied.

This thing works great to stabilize my butcher block slab cutting board. The only bummer is that when I followed a link to Amazon from another site, only the 10 x 16" showed. It does okay on my 14 x 20" cutting board, but it would have been great to know it came in a larger size BEFORE I ordered it. When you search Amazon for San Jamar Cutting Board Safety Mat, a size option is presented and I ordered the larger 13 * 18" size. Borderline, but I'm not going to return the smaller one. Maybe I can find another use for it. Overall, let's face it, Amazon's search results and product pages have gone WAAAAY downhill. But to repeat, this thing does what it claims to do very very well.

Excellent. Locks cutting boards in place as if they were bolted to the surface. I became familiar with this in a professional kitchen and bought it for the home. Works great in both kitchens. Use it every day. Easy to clean.

I have this 22” X 16” mat installed on top of a stainless steel island table, with a 1.5” thick, 15 lb. 24” X 18” teak cutting board on top of it. And it works. But if I use slight force, I can move the board and the mat around. I got it on a great deal for $18, so I’m living with it. But at the regular price of $38, I would expect (and really wanted) more of an octopus hold. And that sort of an intense grip is just not here. So I think it’s a good product, and it works, but not exceptionally, nothing to rave over here. I like the fact that it was neat and easy to just put down and use. And while it works for my fairly large and heavy cutting board, if you’re looking for an exceptional hold, perhaps with a lighter board, this may not be the right mat; but then, truth be told, it is the only one I’ve ever used, so maybe this is as good as it gets, I wouldn’t know…?

My cutting board, although medium heavy, was still moving around on the countertop. The holds the cutting board is place. No movement. Highly recommended!

There was nothing to dislike. These mats were perfect for our setup. Absolutely perfect. They are extremely tacky on our finished wood surfaces as pictured. The cutting boards we have both wood and plastic are stuck fast to the mats whenever they are in use. They don't move at all during normal cutting board use. I'm extremely impressed. The size is great too. You could trim to fit if you want but I like them oversize because then you could put knives and other implement down on the mats and they won't move much either. The mats conform nicely to the shape of my large countertop island which is actually slightly cupped and not perfectly flat. The mats fit the shape and the high points of the counter support the boards with the board mate underneath and they don't move. I highly recommend these mats they are awesome you will NOT be disappointed!

Using this with a teak cutting board that was slipping around like crazy on our granite countertop. With this mat in place it as if I welded the cutting board to the counter - no more movement. Really nice product.

Lays completely flat. Very good thinkness. Grips cutting board well. Very easy to clean. Does the job!

Fits really well under my butcher block board and truly grippy. Wipes down with simple dish soap. A bit pricey but would recommend.
