Cyberlink PhotoDirector 7 Ultra

I haven't played with it too much, but so far it is for the advanced user. I do want to view more tutorials. The Help options are good. It will take awhile to learn. Having to import all the pics and the exporting is a pain. The management portion isn't as easy as it sounds. I want to use face and the duplicate features .. Still haven't gotten to that either. Just getting to known where everything is takes awhile. BUT the editing does have some cool options. I still have to go back to the Corel on some editing. The cost...tine will tell if it is worth it..not counting my time.

It is prob fine for someone who knows what there doing and I don't so that is the reason for a 3 rating I just found it very hard for me

A bit more complicated than I was hoping but I haven't given it my full attention yet. Ask me in a month or so.

I wanted an easy-to-use software product for simple editing. This one makes tinting pictures easy, but doesn't have the ability to do cropping or resizing. Extremely difficult to use. It also crashed my internet. Took it back and spent the extra bucks on Adobe.

When choosing between this and Photoshop & Lightroom it was real close, but ultimately not having to pay a subscription fee pushed me over to Cyberlink PhotoDirector. It has many of the same feat as Adobe, and I've found it fairly intuitive. Plus paying less than $50 for it made it a steal.

I was hoping for more suggestions for organizing my photos by category or person.

Kind of steep learning curve, but does virtually everything to replace Picasa and more

Makes organizing thousands of images easy. Uploaded over 27,000 from my archives and expect to add several times that with my new camera. Appreciated the different flagging options which enables rapid location of theme-specific images. Have yet to use the face recognition features, one of the main reasons for purchasing this software. While it took over 8 hours to export 611 images for one project, the process was flawless. No chance to use the more advanced image editing features yet. Not quite "top end" for that from the description . . . but then neither are my needs; should be more-than-adequate for 98% of my needs. Happy camper so far.
