A Legend in Straw: The Spirit of my Uncle Ray Bolger

Reading this was as if I were in a deep conversation with the author, such an easy read with raw emotion oozing from each page. A fantastic journey back to Oz, pinpointing all its magic and transporting it back into this world. Life lessons to help everyone’s own journey down the yellow brick road. I only hope to see more as this was utterly un-put-downable! This has left me even more determined to find the emerald city...

This book was such a pleasant surprise. I opened it ready to learn all about Ray Bolger’s life through the eyes of his niece and closed it, coming away with so much more! This book is so inspiring and a breath of fresh air. Not only will you get to know Ray and what a special person he was, you will also meet Christianna. She will help you see a new way of looking at everyday life by drawing on the principles passed down from her Uncle Ray, as well as lessons learned from her own challenges. She has a unique way of making the reader take a close look at themselves and learn what it truly means to “live in the moment.” I read this book cover to cover in one sitting. I could not put it down. Although written 12 years ago, the information is even more useful and relevant today. I loved this book! It’s a must read!

This work is a thoughtful tale of a young woman's love for her uncle while, at the same time, an artful weaving of the iconic and hopeful themes of The Wizard of Oz into her own life. A story we can all relate to, no matter our circumstances.

Love this book, Would 100% recommend giving it a read. IT IS WONDERFUL!!!

Thought it would be a biography of Ray Bolger but instead it was more of a book about his niece's battle with cancer. The tidbits about Bolger were great and the photos fantastic but there just wasn't enough about Ray Bolger.
