Harris Seriously Good Walls & Ceilings Paint Pad Set 9in 102012600

Many other people have marked this with one or two stars, because they said the handle doesn't stay on. I found one review which suggested using a bit of oil, so I ignored the poor reviews, and bought this Harris set. Sure enough, the handle is designed to seat deeply in the receiver, and it takes determination, and not a little strength to get it there. So you can safely ignore all the reviews which complain about this, so long as you use a bit of brute force to seat the handle. Once properly in (It goes right to the bottom of the receiver) it's not coming out again. The only thing lacking is some sort of instruction about assembling it, to give confidence to the timid, to keep going harder & harder until it clicks into place. oh, and by the way, the pads are far better quality than the cheap sets available, and will take washing and reusing with ease. The cheap sets are effectively single use, because the furry bits rub off when you clean them. Not so this Harris set.

I’m not sure why so many negative reviews. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant and got this for ease rather than cutting in with a brush. Is it easier than a brush and roller? Possibly not. But it does do its job. I had no issues with it falling off the handle like some reviews, it does click into place and the corner painter is okay too. I painted white over white, but I should imagine for a ‘neat finish’ with colour youd still have to use some decorator tape. I didn’t find the larger pad was able to hold much paint when dipped into the tray but I adapted and dipped it into the actual paint tub and just wiped it off on the sides. It did leave a smooth coverage on the walls with minimal drips and mess. Is it better than a brush and roller? Maybe not. But I would reuse it now I have it.

Used for emulsion painting plastered walls in several rooms. Product gave a good smooth finish, unlike rollers which, although quick, leave a slightly stippled surface. Paint pads are also very economical with the paint. \the corrugated profile on the largest pad has the advantage that it carries more paint and therefore allows a greater area to be covered before re-application of emulsion however, this means that the pad can only be used by drawing it parallel with the handle. Moving it sideways leaves unpainted lines on the wall where the corrugation of the pad means that it is not touching the wall. This means that where the width to be painted is less than the width of the pad, such as between the top of a door frame and the ceiling, a second smaller pad in the kit without corrugations has to be used. Not a big issue though - just means a bit more cleaning at the end. Small quantity of fibres did come away from the pad but no more than was to be expected and did not materially affect the end result. 4 star for value for money - slightly on the expensive side.

I brought this as I prefer painting with a pad and struggle to get any now in our local DIY shops. Took it to work ready for redecorating, opened it and tried to it put together, the handle wouldn't fit into the holder and upon trying to force it in the paint pad holder section snapped in half. As I hadn't taken anything else with me to paint with I ended up having to tape it all together and trying to use it like that, also on the handle the black bit that slides down to lock the handle into different positions was to big for the slots so can't lock into place. Definitely don't recommend buying this.

I have an extensive project (for me) and bought a Harris Seriously Good telescopic pole for painting ceilings. First issue, my fault, I put the handle into the large pad holder back to front. This was difficult and I had to apply some force. When trying to get the handle out again I broke it at the neck. I tried repairing with plastic glue, useless, then superglue, useless and finally Gorilla Contact adhesive. None of these would stick to the plastic. I had to buy another set and when putting the handle into the pad holder, I broke the pad holder fitting. At least I now have a handle AND a pad holder successfully fitted together and LOADS of accessories. An unnecessarily expensive purchase, can't recommend.

Brilliant product! A must for anyone painting large or small areas. Covers quickly and thoroughly. No drips, runs or splashes. I also ordered the extending pole and was amazed at the quality. The job was made so easy, I will never use a roller again. The 9 inch pad gives slightly more coverage than other 8" brands and the kit contains a good selection of assorted useful edging / corner pads. The main pad has a corrugated profile which holds more paint than a flat pad, and the hand piece has a couple of click-stops to set it's angle to the wall and a free-floating setting which I found best. All in all I was amazed by the quality and usefulness of this product and would recommend it without hesitation. 10/10

I expected better from this brand but regret buying this set, don't get me wrong it does what it's supposed to do, however the main pad for the handle had a chunk fall off when going over a flat non rough wall so as you can imagine doesn't scream quality. The little pads are great though. The handle is not the greatest as if you put any small amount of Forse on it the locking mechanism comes loose and the pad flies to the side spilling paint. I've had sets from cheap shops that perform better so unfortunately can't recommend.

Worth the money i will not be using again roller again

Questo kit di tamponi va benissimo, ho imbiancato due stanze in metà tempo, senza coprire nulla e senza nastrare bordi. È importante la diluizione della pittura, non dev'essere troppo densa ma neanche troppo liquida. Bisogna intingere lievemente il tampone e passarlo sulla parte a monte del vassoio per fare sgocciolare l'eventuale pittura in eccesso. Sperimentate e troverete in poco tempo il metodo giusto. Il risultato è uniforme, non lascia righe. Ottimo il tampone per gli angoli e anche il più piccolo per gli spazi stretti.

Mauvaise qualité

De pads kwamen in een verfbakje met dun plastic, zonder omdoos aan. Een wonder dat het plastic nog heel was. Maar het product zelf is ronduit slecht. De pads zijn te klein en tijdens het verven viel de pad uit de houder. Na de zoveelste keer de boel in de container gegooid. Rotzooi, onbruikbaar.

J'avais lu quelques commentaires négatifs sur les kits de peinture en pads, mais évidemment je me suis cru plus malin que les autres alors j'ai décidé d'essayer. Et on peut dire que le résultat n'a pas du tout été à la hauteur de mes attentes. Impossible de peindre sans laisser des traces atroces. J'ai dû finir avec un bon vieux rouleau basique. Je regrette cet achat.
