What is the blade length, how sharp did it come ?

The actual Sharpened edge is 12" there is an addition 1.5" of un sharpened steel from the end of the edge to the chiole for a total of 13.5 inch blade reach. Sorry this is probably to late to help you but I hope it helps someone else in the future

Not really.... it is very large for a large hand, maybe if you have small hands, you could probably grip it with 2....maybe. It is just a bad@$$ machete!

It weights 1.6 lbs with case on machete. I love mine!

On this blade and some of Shrade's other ones I have seen complaint and pictures of breakage. Has this issue been resolved?

I don't know about any complaints about breakage. I use this to cut brush around my property and I haven't had any problems.
