Suncast Aquawinder Resin Decorative 125' Hose Reel, Java

This is my second purchase of this reel. I bought one a year ago but was concerned because of some of the reviews. It works great as long as you understand it's limits. It's PLASTIC so don't make it strain rewinding the hose. I pull the bulk of the hose near the reel and it rewind it without any problem. If you're not willing to do that then spend a few hundred on a commercial hose reel. There's nothing wrong with this reel it does what it's designed to do but to expect plastic gears to reel in a hundred feet of hose, dragging it through grass is unreasonable.

This is my 3rd Suncast Aqua hose reel. For the uninitiated, it uses water power to reel up the hose after using it. I love the product, but wish they would start using more sturdy parts than the plastic ones they have. This is my 3rd one because, well, the plastic parts just gave out eventually. A few commentators have indicated the anchors don't work well, but, I just drilled a couple holes in my deck and used a long screw and a wing-nut, which works fine [that way you can take it in for the winter without unreeling all the hose, disconnecting all of the internal parts, and all that]. I have also previously recommended getting a reel slightly larger than the hose.

After paying $161 in total to get this, not including the new hose pipe we purchased for this, it broke within 24 hours. We have one we purchased approximately 10 years ago for half the price that we're still using and were excited to get this for the other side of our house. It's made of cheap plastic on the inside. A total disappointment.The wheel that the hose wraps around warped overnight so that you can't pull the hose out. Also, with very little water pressure the gaskets busted and now water spews out the back. A WASTE!!!!!!

Good product, I have heard some people complain they don't last long. As long as you assist the hose while rewinding it, it will last a long time. Last one I just replaced was mounted outside to my house and lasted 5 years with a lot of use. A lot. I add additional lube and assist in the rewind and that is with a 100ft hose. I really like the color. You have to remember it is plastic with plastic gears. Common sense goes a long way in making anything last and return excellent performance.

I love automatic hose reels, but this is by far the cheapest I have ever owned. Not worth the money. Plastic sprocket broke so the part that moves the hose back and forth to keep from overwinding did not travel. Hose wound up and over the reel and wrapped around the axle making it impossible to pull out. Had to disassemble, remove the hose and put the junk on the curb. Lots of fun on a 95 degree day.

When it works it’s a useful product. Bit it’s cheap plastic and doesn’t last. And the company warranty is not worth much. I had a problem after about a year and they just sent me replacement parts without instructions. When it failed again they did the same thing and I could never get itTo work again. They refused toProvide a new unit. Now I need new one but don’t want to pay money again for a productThat doesn’t last.

I didn't have any trouble with this but I can't get over the sticker shock of how much I had to pay for it. Especially, since it's all plastic. I had an old one that I purchased about 10 years ago or more and never had any problems with that one until I had to get a new hose this summer and the threads on plastic connector got messed up. Couldn't believe my eyes when I seen the price but I needed an automatic rewind because I have bad shoulders so what was I to do. Pay the steep price. It better last as long as the other one did, that's all I have to say.

This thing works great. It winds up 100 ft farm hose with no problem. It saves us a lot of work. I'm a little worried that it is plastic but it seems to be holding up fine. It was easy to set up and looks a lot neater than having 100 ft of hose laying everywhere.

Less than a year after I purchased this it no longer rewinds the hose so I have to do it by hand for the most part. I would contact the company if I had any contact information to inform themThe previous one that I owned lasted me for several yearsI have written to customer service twice and have not received a reply,. Considering how much it cost me and the lack of customer service response I will not purchase one again
