Works but must be nailed
I ordered no less than 7 different blinds trying to find what worked best. I also wanted white so that it looked ok from outside the front of our house but needed them to also be full black out. Like other reviewers have already warned you about, cutting them to size is a workout. I used an older, rarely used serrated kitchen knife and sawed at an angle. The first few times I thought I might die. I might have lost consciousness a time or two and then kept sawing as I came to. As I got more used to the incredible amount of force necessary to saw through these mothers it went much more quickly. Still, when I got through it I was out of breath and bit faint. Next, the sticky strip at the top isn’t going to cut it. Give up the dream and just accept it out of the box. In fact, don’t buy these without a plan that doesn’t include using its own adhesive strip. I tried a lot of things including a very detailed plan of attaching super strong magnets to the window sill and the shade. Wasn’t that a great idea? No. It. Wasn’t. In theory it was perfect. In execution it was too much work. Even liquid nails wouldn’t stick the magnet to the shade. So, what’s a girl to do? I got out a hammer and nails and beat that sucker into submission. The very top plastic like top can be folded up just enough to get a nail or screw underneath. Then just pound it into the window sill. I installed these blinds behind my plantation blinds so it worked well. Nothing messy to see here folks. It’s quite dark. Very dark, actually. Yes there is a little bleed through on the edges because it’s difficult to get the size exactly right. But it totally blocks at least 95% of the street light outside of our window and the inexplicable bright as the sun red light bulb our neighbors installed on their upper deck that beams right into our bedroom. Amsterdam much? With these blinds installed, it’s so dark that you have to make sure the floor is picked up because if you get up in the night you won’t be able to see and a rogue sock can take you out. I’ll let you wonder how I know that. 😳 If you do want light to come in they are pretty easy to push up. No cords. We just reach behind our plantation blinds and push as high as we want and they hold in place. All in all these are a success and we would buy again. Just remember to loosen up, stretch and shoot a power drink before you start sawing and have your hammer and nails ready.

Nice shade but adhesive does not hold in the heat!
Easy to cut with the guide they give. Have to cut both ends and measurement on the ends are from center just in case someone else DOES NOT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS😂I ended up useing screw to attatch it because the adhesive does not hold in the heat. Easy fix for a great customizable blind the is very low in cost.

Did not work for my windows
I returned all 5 blinds. I have a window that opens from the top or bottom. There is a long handle at the top making installing this blind inside the window impossible. I also have a very narrow wooden frame that would not work.I called the customer service number to see if I could put the adhesive above the window along the wall (not parallel to the floor but one the wall surface). The number sent me to the live help on the web page. Well it is not live help but rather a bot who gave me a customer service email address. It took a day to get a response. By that time, I had read the reviews and was pretty sure that the adhesive would not hold the way I wanted to mount it. So I had already purchased a different product.I returned them all.

Adhesion, not great. It also has a usability issue. Despite these, it works.
We bought one of these units to replace blinds that we had in our old windows. It turns out it's pretty simple to cut and install these (make sure you have a longish, sharp, non-serrated knife). After installing the blind in the shorter window and seeing how well it worked, we ordered another blind for the taller window. Before the second blind arrived, I noticed that first blind had started separating from the top of the window (see photo). It did this a "little bit" and I pressed it back up. A day later it was nearly about to fall off. Mind you this was a new window, a fresh paint job, and and fresh, clean surface. It didn't take the paint off... it just separated. The solution to the sag problem was to apply a silicone sealer/caulk over the adhesive and press the unit in place using a scrap of would and supports (borrowed legs from my tripod) for 24 hours. Unfortunately the sag has left permanent wrinkles in that one window... not terribly noticeable, though.A couple of other observations... there are measurements on the top of the blind... the part that you peel off to expose the adhesive. DO NOT TRUST THEM. The blind measurements were off by over an inch. It was a bit puzzling to measure the width of the window with a tape measure and then notice where that same measurement fell on the "measuring device" on the top of the blind. Either directly mark and cut the blind, our measure and mark using a tape measure... do NOT go by the measurements marked on the blind or you'll have a disaster.Secondly, don't trust the adhesive. It is much more tedious to support a blind that has been "glued" in place with a bead of silicone caulk, but the results on our second larger (taller) window is better than on the first window having made the extra effort. The silicone caulk will be almost as easy to remove, but much more secure. The blinds do a great job of darkening... I have them in the "Full sun" corner of our house and controlling the light has made it possible to continue to work at home in my office without annoying glare. Finally there is one flaw with the design that is not related to the adhesive, or the mis-measurements... when you extend the blind all the way down to the window sill, there is really nothing to grab to lift (open the blind). It really should have little handles - OR you'll have to not have the blind come down to the sill OR fiddle with trying to get your fingers under the base. The good news is when you lift it up, it seems to remain level and in whatever place you stop. Only time will tell how reliably it will behave like that. I will try to remember to post a follow-up in a year.

Great blinds but doesn’t stick well
They are great for keeping light out and making rooms dark which is great for sleep. Just make sure it’s cut properly. It lost its stock very quickly from constantly being pulled on so I eventually had to screw it to the window.

Measure twice, cut once
The product itself is good, blocks light out extremely well compared to our old blinds. The bottom plastic part came cracked in several places and is filled with a Styrofoam strip. It didn't effect functionality per se but it appears cheaply made. I didn't notice until I had already trimmed the piece to size. Please check for any cracks before you open the package! When trimming the piece to size, you're suppose to measure in 3 places of the window and use the smallest measurement. I used the guide on the piece and cut to my size on the one end, found that it was a bit too long (the guide says to trim on both sides). Had I gone ahead and trimmed the 2nd side according to the guide, my blinds would not have been able to cover my entire window and light would have peeked out from the side. Therefore, please make sure once you trim the one side, measure again with your tape measure to make sure you are actually cutting to the size required.I used a serrated knife like a breadknife to cut. It was easy enough however did produce the nail on chalk board noise. Brutal, but over with in seconds once you persevere through it. :)

easy to install
Arrived slightly damaged. Has a tiny crack on one end at bottom but not noticeable. easy to install. I've had no issues with adhesion and the blinds operate very smoothly. The blinds look great but are seriously overpriced!! Very expensive ! I paid $150.00 for a 60"W x 64"L ! There are really no other product choices out there as I didn't want to put any screws or bracket hardware on our brand new windows ! They do the job and look nice but if I had older windows, I would have bought blinds with brackets.

It’s good for the price, I’m glad we bought it!
This blind works great, it keeps the heat from the sun out of the room, it’s not totally blackout but it works really well to keep light out. I will mention it is not as easy to cut as it looks. It took a lot of effort and a very sharp knife. The adhesive is not great. We read another review that recommended putting a few screws in the top to mount it where the adhesive is. This worked great. I highly recommend drilling a few screws in to mount it. Other than that it works great and I’ll be ordering another for our spare bedroom

The blind doesn't stick!
This is a nice-looking blind that blocks light as advertised. Too bad it doesn't stick in place as advertised! This blind is supposed to stick in place. I installed it in a vinyl window, wiped it all down with alcohol as directed in the instructions, waited more than the recommended 1/2 hour before using it, and by morning it was laying at the bottom of the window! Obviously, the tape they provide on the blind is useless. I ended up buying a long strip of industrial Velcro to get the thing to stay up. I shouldn't have to do that with an $89 blind! I now see where many have experienced the same problem.
