The stone should be kept close to the heating element to achieve the desired temperature, and full instructions are provided with the set. Alternatively, consider heating the rock with a BBQ or pizza oven, ensuring it is adequately heated by performing a simple check. Drop a teaspoon of water on the stone's centre. If heated correctly, it will immediately sizzle and begin to evaporate. Further heating is required if it sizzles for just a few seconds. Note that heating in the oven is achieved by placing it in a cold oven and heating it to 550F-580 Fahrenheit for 60 minutes.
