Good guard and does stop the wood spitting, but is a bit overpriced tbh

This is a brilliant piece of kit - a great addition to the Solo. Made well, sturdy & reasonable 👍🏻

Bliss, no more complaints about flying ash. The shield is in two parts, a lower and upper portion, the latter akin to a lid. I'm not sure why this should be so, if adding more fuel, I always lift the entire shield. The lower half may afford a degree of protection whilst chucking in more logs, who knows. The shield ships with a couple of handles which can be hooked into it for manoeuvring, they have been sent to the darkest recesses of the shed, never to venture out again, the heat proof gloves work just as well. Finally, apply all caution. using the shield doesn't eliminate the danger. When the fire is lit, just like the pit itself, the shield will become insanely hot. It has proved a great purchase for me, the mess that resulted from an evening spent around the fire is no longer there.

I bought a Solo Stove Bonfire model as a garden firepit, and the wife insisted that I purchase the Shield to stop sparks jumping out the fire. This it does, mostly, some sparks still manage to jump out but are 99.9% reduced. The price, however: £170 for this Shield; I love the Bonfire and the secondary burn is fun to see, but smokeless or not, the price is eye-watering. You'd have to really want it, or in my case, be told you can't use the firepit without it.

From the other reviews on here I was probably expecting too much. The cover probably stops 20-30% of embers that are large enough to be blocked by the holes but most still get through. Even if this worked as advertised it’s probably twice the price that should be charged. Manufacturing cost of this is likely no more than £10.

Well made and functional

Schönes Produkt in guter Qualität. Die Farbe des Korbes/Gitters ändert sich natürlich nach den ersten Benutzungen. Während des Feuers glüht das Gitter sehr schön

It is very well built and versatile. I use pellets but you can also use split wood. Fire burns nice an hot. Best part is no smoke
