Seattle where the rain never sleeps
After reading the many reviews of the Hennessy and watching you tube videos I had come to the conclusion that this was the tent for me. I own 4 tents. 2 that leak when it rains and 2 that I spent a whole bunch of money for. I have camped on my own deep in the woods for months. I WISH I HAD ONE OF THESE YEARS AGO! Last night I took it out of the bag, set it up in what seemed to be 2 min. It was fast and simple. I put my cold weather bag in it and down came the rain. It rained all night. I am guessing the temp was in the low 40s F. The wind blew hard yet I was warm, dry and very comfortable. What a great product. I plan on buying 10 more( I have a lot of family and friends). As a survivalist this tent just makes sense. Its perfect for your Bug Out Bag. Its small, lite, bug repellent, easy to use, well made, and water resistant. I watched a video of a guy who hung his off the side of a rock face where there where no trees. I have seen them hung in between trucks, off of fences, rocks, hiking poles with guide wires and stakes. I even saw one hung in a hole with the rain fly covering the hole. Now that is inconspicuous camping. Oh yea. The whole cold weather thing I haven't tried yet BUT the pad they sell is a aluminum bubble wrap insulation that you can buy big rolls of at home depot for 20$s. I use this stuff all the time in my work and it is great insulation. One roll would make a 3 layer thick insulation pad 4ft by 6ft. Reflective insulation is far better then any other form of insulation. I will post my cold weather findings when I camp in the snow. On the other hand this thing will rock in hot weather. I am sold. I am a believer. Best night sleep I have ever had in a tent by far!

Great for camping! (duh)
Even in camping grounds, where there usually aren't 2 trees of appropriate distance, I tied one end to a tree and the other to the rollcage of my Jeep. The netting kept all the bugs out, and the tarp kept the morning dew (and a late night sprinkle) off of me! It was also a pretty comfortable sleep. I'm 6'3", about 215lbs and it held me no problems - plenty of extra head and foot room. When you really think about it, the price is still a great value - it's a shelter/tent, crashpad/mattress, and pillow all in one! and it packs up wicked small, so there's no space being taken up by the extra tent and sleeping stuff. Long story short - very comfortable to sleep in, no bugs or rain inside, pouch to hold keys/phone etc inside tent. I would easily buy this again should a significant other come into my life and want to go camping too.

Great hammock, horrible fly.
The hammock itself is terrific, its very comfortable and easy to setup (on small trees) on the other hand the rain fly that they include is absolute crap. I bought this for a camping trip out in the Florida keys, it would've been great if it didn't rain. the fly does not keep much rain out and if wind happens to catch under it flips the fly up and renders it useless. I would recommend getting a better fly from Hennessy to go with it.

try it in person
I like this hammock system a lot, however I can't get as comfortable in it as I can other open top hammocks. I tend to wake up with my torso low in the hammock with my feet higher up than when I fell asleep. I should have gotten the longer model, but this will work for my wife.

Awesome - replace your tent now!
After two nights sleeping in this hammock, I am glad I bought it. I"m in my early 40's now, and having had some back problems in my past (lots of sports in my younger days, and a military career of 20 years) I can honestly say waking up on a camping trip felt better after a night in this hammock than I have ever felt in the field. It's comfortable and better than other straight-line hammocks. You can even sleep on your side, and bend your legs to get comfortable. Only downside: if it's cold, you're going to feel it, unless you have a sleep mat to insulate underneath your sleeping bag. I haven't used this hammock in the rain, so the unsolved question in my mind is what to do with my pack, hiking boots and other sundries to keep them out of the wetness. I am definitely looking forward to not being awash in a stream of rain run-off though!

Tom and Keltie failed me...
Ridge line broke on first use. I did not exceed the weight limits, nor was the line tensioned too tightly (I have another Hennessey Hammock that I've used for over a decade with no problem). Same thing happened to a buddy of mine who also bought his at the same time I bought mine. Not sure what's happened to the quality assurance, but it looks like it's time to start investigating other brands. Tom (the owner) and Keltie completely failed in following up on the issue, despite my patient emails over two months. I'm fixing it myself now... probably better that way, given the quality issues (in addition to the customer service issues!).

Just doesn't do it for me
I wanted to love it. Rain fly is not particularly useful unless you're sheltered from the wind. Difficult to get out of. Chilly unless you use a pad to keep the bottom facing side insulated. At 6'5", 230 lbs, I cannot get comfortable inside for long before I feel as though I'm being bent in half. It needs to be tied high, else you end up with your arse on the ground. With snakeskins and pad, I've put in over four hundred dollars to use this system. Now it sits in a box in the shed. It just doesn't work for me. I'm sorry it does not.

I love this thing! I use it when I go on road trips with my motorcycle or when I go camping with the family (it's my nap hammock). It's much smaller than a tent to carry on the bike, and a million times more comfortable. No pressure points, no rocks on roots to poke my back. If it's hot there's nice air flow to keep you cool, if it's chilly you must put an insulating mat inside because you'll freeze, but a simple thin camping mat will do just fine. It's made with very very tough fabric, I'm 6'2" and 240lbs and the thing holds me easily. All the seams are triple or quad stitched. The rain proof roof will keep you dry and being orr the ground means your floor NEVER gets wet. Really.... I have nothing bad to say about this product. It's awesome.

Supposedly the rolls royce of hammocks was really surprised by how basic it was Hammock. No proper suspension, just a rope and some small tree huggers. Hard to adjust and difficult to put up. Given huge advances in hammock suspension really surprised to see no innovation there. Bottom entry. Hard to get out of. The velcro locks fine, but with bedding and the like, it makes it really hard to get out. There is very little overlap, so in harsh weather, the tarp is going to have to be really low, the hammock will get wet. Finally the hammock is asymmetrical, so is the tarp, meaning it can only go one way. However there is no indication of which way, so get it wrong in the dark and wet night, and you'll be cursing no marks on the hammock or tarp to line up. That's the bad. However everyone swears by them, so it's 3* until I've been camping in it for a while, then will revise.

Used this all summer. Fantastic! Will not go back to a tent ever again. Comfortable, incredibly easy to set up, and take down. Great quality.
