106092 Pineapple Post Top

Ordered 4. Shipped in 3 separate packages. Two seemed a little lopsided. But straighted out when screwing them in.Replaced tired, old finials. Only decision I must make.... Leave the pineapples natural (clear waterproof coat) or paint them black??

It is true as seen in the other reviews that you must sand these to make them usable, but it doesn't take long. Just start with a dull cerraded knife in the grooves to remove the sawdust then sand with medium grain paper: 30 minutes to sand one. I couldn't find this style anywhere else so I am thankful for them even with the sanding. It came out great.

I bought these items before at a more expensive cost. These were 1/2 the cost. They were terribly made. The wood was all choppy and uneven. If not careful you can get splendors. It was only smooth in a couple areas. I started painting them, but you can still see the chopped up wood. Compare to what it showed pictures of what I expected as I received many years ago.

There was a lot of sanding to get them ready to use. The screws are not exactly straight. Once that was done, they were usable. But don’t think they are ready to go right out of the box.

Well turned and shaped, but needed some work before using. Each edge needed to be filed and then sanded to remove wood tearout. Worst problem was that out of the two ordered, one had the screw installed at an angle, which would not align well to a pilot hole. Expect to do some modifications to make them ready to install.

Unfortunately, the post top was so roughly cut (nothing like in the picture), jagged edges and chunks missing, I'm going to have to buy different ones for my project. As my dad said, this wood is hard to cut smoothly, but these were beyond poorly cut. I've tried to fix them, but they are about beyond repair.

I REDID MY DECK CUT ALL THE UGLY TOPS OFF DRILLED THE HOLD PUT THESE IN CHANGED THE LOOK OF THE DECK LIKE NEW WELL PUT ALL NEW RAILS AS WELL ALSO LITE SOLOR AND BUG LIGHTS SOLOR LOOKS ALL NEW AND THE WOMAN LOVE IT LOL YES I AM 71 AND READY FOR SUMMER
