One out of Two Worked - DO NOT BUY
I bought two switches. Although the online description says nothing about it not being compatible with LED or CCFL lamps, the actual package has a warning in very tiny print that says they may not work with anything but an (old fashioned) incandescent bulb. By the way I am a retired Electronic Engineer. The first one worked perfectly with a fixture having two LED light bulbs. It glows neon orange through the white toggle when the switch is off. It’s not bright like a nightlight, but it’s bright enough to let you find the switch in the dark. That’s what I expected. The second switch for another fixture did not work right. The switch turns the light on and off, but no glow - Other than a very brief glow for less than a second when I first connected the switch to the circuit. I swapped out the two LED bulbs for other dimmer rated LED bulbs, still no luck. I even screwed in a 40 Watt incandescent bulb in one socket which should have made it work if it was a problem with the load - but still no glow when the switch is off. I believe that 1 of my two switches I bought is simply defective. The 40 Watt incandescent bulb should have made the toggle light up.I have had problems in the past with other Leviton indicating switches - I wound up buying 4 switches to find two good ones and returned the defective ones to my local home improvement store where I originally bought them. It seems the odds of getting a good one seem to run about 50:50. These were the 3-way type, but a similar product.I am aggravated and exhausted from climbing a ladder up and down and trying all the kinds of light bulbs I did. I am too tired to remove the defective switch and return it. I am deeply dissatisfied that it appears Leviton cannot seem to do better than a 50% failure rate on their indicating light switches. For heavens sake - They are the name brand for home light switches and these are not cheap! I am embarrassed as an American that a US company is this wretched in delivering this type of product.

Switch flickers. Maybe faulty?
The media could not be loaded. Â I am not sure if I have a faulty switch or if this is what it should do. When first turned off the light is solid and bright. After a few seconds the switch light starts to flicker until it is switched on (little light off). Thenwhen switched off again it starts flickering again after a few moments. Is this normal or is it just mine? Not too sure, but here is a video that shows how bright it is aswell and how it begins to flickers seconds after the swith is turned to the off position. Tried this switch in 2 rooms to make sure it isn't my connection, same results.

Exactly as expected
After converting a basement bathroom light from pull cord to a switch, we decided we wanted a lit switch to see in low lighting/the dark. This was easy to install (we had just installed the standard switch 48 hrs prior) and worked exactly as expected. There does seem to be a few seconds of 'warm up' after the switch is turned off and the lit portion is switched on. The item arrived quickly and properly packaged.

Didn't Illuminate
I bought the highest rated, most expensive to eliminate all the problems others were having, but my switch doesn't light. It's old wiring so maybe isn't grounded properly. I was wondering how it could light without a neutral. Now I know... I guess it can't.

A bit expensive but feels solid....
This switch is well made and the toggle throw has a very solid feel to it unlike cheaper switches which justifies the higher cost. My only gripe is I don't understand why an ivory colored switch costs way more than a white one but other than that I recommend this product as a good buy.

I've used these before and they last forever (but not literally...)
My previously installed ones are at the 15 year mark. That's not forever, but if they failed now, I'd be happy.Just put one in in the garage to help me find the switch in the dark. I don't completely understand how these function without a neutral, but they do -- just wire it up like any other switch with a hot in (from the source), a switched out (to the lamp), and a ground. Blam-O, you've got yourself a lighted wall switch. The switch isn't super bright, except when the room is pitch black and the switch literally can not be seen. Then, it's as plain as day.If you're at all hesitant, this is about the easiest electrical upgrade there is to make.

Works reliably
I had purchased another brand first because I wanted the switch to have a clear/white LED, not amber. But the other switch only worked for under a day and then the LED stopped working.I ordered this one and installed it. It has been working perfectly, just as it should, for several months now. I'm very happy with it.

Five Stars
Outstanding quality, and works with LED lights. Really lights up so you can see them from quite a distance.
