I am in my late 60s and having my windows professionally washed is not in the budget. But I also don't want to fall out of 2nd story windows washing my windows! This is not a tool for doing lots of windows, but I have only 3 on the 2nd story that need washing. Two are double hung windows and one is a slider. With a son's help, the slider can be lifted out of the track for easy washing. This tool worked fine for doing the fixed part of that window. The squeegee is not quality so I did not bother with it. I just used cold water and Dawn dish soap (a suggestion from a website) with the nice washing pad that came with this tool. I washed the window on a cloudy day, then quickly removed the pad and my microfiber cloth stuck to the tool nicely. I used it to wipe off the soapy water and buff out the streaks. I had to take a couple of swipes with the pad and cloth to get all spots, but I was pleased with the results. I was looking for clean, not perfection. No hanging out of the window! The tool worked for my 2 double hung windows only because they are right next to each other. The lower part of those windows are supposed to be able to tilt out for washing but they have never worked right. If yours tilt out for that purpose, then this tool will work adequately for washing the top, stationary part of the window. I needed access from each of the two windows to clean the bottom window of the double hungs. But again, it saved me the money of having to hire a professional. I am pleased with the fact that they are clean if not perfect. It will just rain again eventually anyway!
