Skip Hop Silicone Placemats For Baby And Toddlers, Ladybug

Bought this to use mostly at restaurants or while out at other people's houses. I was worried about it getting deformed from rolling it up for storage but so far (a month) it has remained in its original form and sits flat on surfaces. It's not complicated for my son to peel it up off of the table (he's 17 months) but he usually leaves it alone and love how it doesn't really slide. Matches his Skip Hop travel bib very cute too! Fits nicely in a diaper bag or even small handbag. It's pretty easy to clean. While out I'll wipe it off with napkins then a baby wipe and put back in diaper bag, then when I get home I use soap and water and hang to air dry then roll it back up and put in diaper bag for next use. It's also a fairly large size which is nice to cover table within his arms reach while being able to be compact for storage.Overall this is a great purchase, especially if you are freaked out about your child's food touching random surfaces that you don't know if they've been adequately cleaned.

These placemats are great! They are exactly what I was looking for. They lay down flat with no problem, no matter how I store them. They are boldly printed on bright silicone, and are the perfect thickness in my opinion. I love that I can just toss them in the sink to clean, and hang them by their loop to dry. They also travel so well since they have the built in ring to wrap around them. I just love them & would highly recommend!

This place mat is perfect! The silicone keeps it from slipping around our table (we don't use a tablecloth). The bee design is adorable. I love that it can be folded up to take when we go on a trip, out to eat, or just to grandparents. Plus being able to just stick it in the sink and rinse it is always a bonus. Our one year old does try to pick it up, but I think teaching him to stop is parenting, not due to the placemat.

This little mat is a gem. I bring it with me every time we go out to eat! I feel so much better about not having to deal with dirty tables or even clean looking tables that are still probably dirty. Plus if he makes a mess, its on this mat, and I don't feel guilty about the mess for our poor server! My little guy is 12 months now, but we've been using it since he was about 9 months. Its sticks really well to the table but mind you a baby can still just pick it up of the table if they want to. My baby typically leaves it alone unless he's getting really fussy because I'm not giving him his food fast enough!The best part is after they make a huge mess, just wipe off the majority of it with a napkin, fold this up and secure it with the attached loop and then throw it in your purse until you can get home to clean it. It won't leak or goop over your purse. It washes off easily with hot water and soap, doesn't stain or hold a smell. Just lay it out or I hang it off one of my cabinet knobs to try.Whenever my baby sees this smiling giraffe starring back at him, he gets soooooo excited, its food time!

Awesome little mat! We eat out twice a week with our little one, and had been using disposable placemats until a friend asked if I also liked clubbing arctic seals in my spare time (killing the environment). It cleans up easily, we fold it into sixths and jam it in a small pocket in our diaper bag, no problem with creases. We've been using it for about 5 months and our now two year old likes the cute bee, and we put food on the eyes, antenna and wings to entertain her. My only complaint is that it does not stick to the table the way the disposable ones did- we've had a few wrestling matches trying keep it on the table. But overall super easy to use!

I love this placemat! The number one reason I bought this product was to prevent my daughter from touching or dropping her food on a restaurant table. This product is super flexible and can be folded down very easily. I keep this in her diaper bag! The surface is also really easy to wipe or wash and dries almost instantly.

This is one of those items that you think you need, and then you realize that you really don't. I regret purchasing this. It's now just sitting in a drawer.I purchased this placemat because I love Skip Hop, we were starting to eat out with our daughter more, and I wanted to create a safe, clean eating space for her, and prevent her from spilling her food on the restaurants' tables. So, you go to the restaurant, and you wipe down the high chair and you wipe down the general area in front of your child, and you lay this mat down. Your child will instantly want to pick it up and play with it or throw it. So you set it aside, or place a heavy dish on top of it, or distract your child with some other toy. Food comes. Maybe you have your own kids plate, maybe you use the restaurant's plate, maybe you forgo a plate all together and drop the food directly onto this mat - regardless, as soon as your child is finished eating, they will want to lift this placemat up. Maybe you have a miracle child and they don't do that. Well, if it's served its purpose, you'll still have bits of food all over it. So how do you clean it? Well, you can do the 'just good enough' clean and brush off the food and fold it back up and place it back into your diaper bag and then *make absolutely sure* to remember to wash it once you get home. Or you could brush off the food onto another plate and then excuse yourself and go clean it properly in the bathroom. Either way, it's kind of a hassle and just another thing to drag around and wash.What we do now is basically wipe down the high chair, wipe down the area in front of our child, and let the her eat off a regular plate when the food arrives. Before that, she plays with toys at the table, on the area we wiped down. When she is finished eating, is there food on the table? Yes. So we clean it up a bit with a napkin to the best of our ability, and when we're gone the servers wipe down the table before the next customer arrives. Simple.You do not need this placemat. It is cute. It is a placemat. But you don't NEED this placemat.That said, perhaps if your child is 3 or 4, with good table manners, and you want to create a special dining experience for him or her in your home with this adorable placemat, then fine, go for it. But in terms of using it for dining outside the house with a little one, it's a no go.
