desertcart.com: SneakPeek® DNA Test Gender Prediction - Know Baby’s Gender at 6 Weeks with Over 99% Accuracy¹ - Lab Fees Included - Early Girl or Boy Reveal Home Kit (Lancet) : Health & Household Review: Predicted a boy. Ultrasound confirmed it a boy. - So the test predicted correctly. Since that's the main concern of the product, I'll review the actual method of the test kit. What I liked: they gave you instructions. Everything you needed was included. And a few extra needles and swabs just in case (I ended up needing multiple needles). It informed you to thoroughly sanitize the area and everything you touch, because male DNA, even on something as simple as the faucet handle, could mess it up. It was easy to do for the most part. Instructions were easy to read. What I didn't like: the final steps said to prick your finger with the needle. Seems easy enough. But I had SO much trouble getting the right angle. The instructions said to puncture along the grooves of your main 3 fingers. First I did the ring. Barely any blood came out. It maybe filled... 1/4 the vial before drying up. The 2nd one I did was my index. Same thing. I started to panic at this point because you have a limited amount of time to fill the vial, and I had only filled it 1/2 way up. I used the last needle on my middle finger, slightly in the middle. That did it... too much. Blood shot out everywhere and filled the vial, and got on the floor, on my clothes, on my fabric chairs... it looked like a crime scene. So after filling the vial, which was starting to dry out because it had been so long, I ran to get a paper towel and had to clean up blood EVERYWHERE. so what I didn't like about the product is how hard it is to find the right spot to get enough blood, and how the instructions aren't very clear on WHERE to poke yourself. They include a picture that says slightly off to the side, but it's a very not-detailed picture. Other than that, it did what it was supposed to for me. Review: Reliable and accurate test for us! - I can't praise this test or the company highly enough! I took the test at 9w and had quite a time getting enough blood necessary for processing during the time period specified -- mine actually clotted before the collection was complete, so I had little faith it would be usable. Sure enough, the company emailed me to let me know my sample couldn't be used, but to my surprise, they mailed me another kit free of charge, with expedited processing! This was such a pleasant surprise for me, because not many companies would go above and beyond like that. To increase my chances of success when collecting the blood sample, I used a slightly different strategy for the second kit. I have a small frame, so the enclosed tourniquet provided little to no constriction for me. I supplemented its effect by adding a rubber band -- snug but not TOO tight. I set a kitchen timer to help me be mindful of the recommended collection time, and I also used the lancets to prick one finger twice. These methods helped a lot, and just a few short days later, my husband and I were thrilled to receive an email stating IT'S A GIRL! This early notice enabled me to shop a seasonal consignment sale for everything our daughter will need, and a later ultrasound at 16w clearly confirmed the Sneak Peek test results as being correct! For those with concerns about the accuracy of this test, please note that I took the test in the kitchen while both my husband and son were home, but I cleaned and disinfected the area according to the Sneak Peek info, and everything went fine. Also, I've read several negative reviews of this test, and I know it can be hard to decide whether to trust and buy when there's both 5 star and 1 star reviews for a product. My best guess is that some of the negative reviews were perhaps posted as a result of using the Sneak Peek test before it was updated and improved. The old test required just a drop of blood on a card, which is a method relying on far less DNA material as well as being more likely to be contaminated by male DNA in the environment. The newer test requires collection of a small amount of blood in a sealed container, which is far more reliable and accurate. I hope my review is helpful to those of you considering this test -- go for it!

It worked for ME at 13 weeks!
I was skeptical to say the least before I bought this product. When I first received it I made sure I had done my research and read through the reviews to make sure I didn't miss any of the instructions. I also read through reviews to see what worked and didn't worked for most. With that being said: I received my package in the mail and it had great instructions with pictures making it very dummy proof. I had someone stated that they waited for their loved ones to leave, sanitized most of all the are when they took their test. I actually live with my husband and 5 year old son (both boys) and asked my husband to stay in the living room caring for our son while I took the time and sanitized the whole kitchen table. I initially washed my hands very well and used lysol wipes several times throughout the procedure up until I had to scrub my nails and hands with the small brush that it brings. I had an issue where once I pricked my finger to provide my blood for the test, my blood dripped down my fingerprint instead of into the little container. Because of this I thought the result would be wrong and I was in a panic. I made sure I squeezed my finger and scooped all the blood to fill the line in the container regardless and prayed my blood was not contaminated to get a good reading. Well, when the results came back, it said they were 100% conclusive and I was having a girl! I sighed relief because if the results would have stated a boy I would have not trusted it just because it could have been due to contamination purposes since I live with boys and they have the Y chromosome in their DNA. A few weeks later I went to my OBGYN and my US also showed we were having a baby girl! I have not given birth yet but its as accurate as it can be considering the OBGYN provide the same type of test and is just as accurate but a lot more expensive.

Do not buy!! Scam company
Current update nearly two weeks after sending my sample in. 9/10/23: Finally got to talk to customer service tuesday 9/5/23 and they would only send me a new test and not refund since it was through Amazon. Why would I want to go through this experience again!! -But they mailed me one, & Still took 4 days to get the new test and it was put in the local parcel box not delivered to my door. After they said it would be mailed priority same day. But the day after(9/7/23) I got a notification from my original sample saying it was finally being shipped, 10 days after I gave it to usps. My original sample arrived Friday 9/8/23 at their center in San Diego. Their policy states that once the sample is received you’ll get an email showing it’s being processed the same day. I never got an email! No surprise there, I contacted all points of contact with them again. But once again no response from anyone and the company online chat was still closed all day!!! Now their website policy for results states you get your results by 2pm the following day, which the still process samples on Saturdays according to their website. And guess what, no surprise!! No results!! No email! Nothing! Every promise and policy listed on Amazon and their website is lies, ontop of the shipping issues that delayed my sample nearly two weeks. And horrible! Horrible! Zero customer zero responses! *so at this point I’m gonna contact them again and ask for a manger or supervisor, if I ever get ahold of someone as their online chat never is on, and you can only schedule a customer service rep to call you. Hoping I eventually get my money back!! Amazon still won’t do anything about it. Updated my review because it’s day five since my results were mailed in and I have no results back. I’ve contacted there support team for two days and not one response. There chat box never is online and never lets u actually talk to someone. I even contacted the instagram because they responded quickly when I first ordered and now they don’t respond. I even emailed the email I got from someone who works there and no response. This is all very frustrating and upsetting. I wouldn’t of ordered it if I knew it wouldn’t be done on time like they said. And ontop of it the tracking on the shipping label to send your blood test to them doesn’t show any updates for me. So I don’t know where my test is or when I’ll ever (if I do) get my results. I don’t recommend buying from them. Original review 8/22/23: I ordered this and it came in the mail within 4 hours after ordering it. Everything came sealed and organized, instructions were very clear. As a phlebotomist myself I’m very happy with the instructions for proper sanitation and info they give to not cross contaminate. Especially when I have my husband and son and two male dogs in the house. I made sure to sanitize my area 3 times, and personally too the extra step and laid out a Sanipad to ensure a clean area. After I washed my hands and laid everything out on my sanipad. I then washed my hands three times with antibacterial soap and the scrub brush that’s included. Then I used the alcohol wipe included and some I had at home to sanitize the tips of my fingers before touching the Lancet. I was a little excessive with my cleanliness but I want to ensure 100% that I did the most I could to get correct results with all the males in my home. Although u don’t have to do what I did. Following their instructions given is plenty to give a accurate result in my opinion. I’m very happy that everything is include in one box including shipping label. It only took me 2 minutes to collect the sample (I’m used to doing finger pricks) and the sample was full. I sealed everything up and packaged it up and shipped it off. Excited for the results in a few days!!! I highly recommend as this is ten times easier than going to a lab or ultrasound and much faster.

100% accurate
After finding out at 14 weeks that we would have to wait another 7 weeks for our gender scan we decided to take the plunge on Sneek Peak and I couldn’t be happier we did! We ordered the standard test and the longest wait through the whole process was Amazon Prime shipping! The test arrived on a Saturday, and once it did I was adamant about following the directions EXACTLY as instructed which meant my husband and son had to stay far away from the testing area (I wouldn’t even allow my husband to touch the box lol) thankfully they give you 3 lancets because in my initial hesitancy, I barely poked through and didn’t allow for enough blood to fill the container. To be honest, at first I didn’t think it was possible to get enough, even with pumping, constraining and hand movements to get the blood flowing nothing was dripping out. After the second poke and enough time for the blood to flow it started REALLY flowing and got fairly messy. Needless to say I had no issues filling the container at all. We sent the test out immediately after and within a couple of days I got confirmation that my sample had been received in the lab and was being processed, the next day (less than 24 hours later) the results were in! It was a boy! Fast forward to today and we finally had our gender scan and it confirmed the same, it’s a boy! This product allowed my husband and I to really soak in and absorb seeing our sweet boys face on the screen without the obsessive curiosity of whether our little bundle was a boy or a girl. It really allowed us to live in the moment, a moment that can never be taken back or redone. Highly recommend for fellow impatient mommy’s like myself. The results are super quick, test relatively painless and the most important, 100% accurate.

It was right!! We're having a BOY!!!!!
My husband and I have four girls and were trying very hard to get pregnant with a boy. When I heard about this test my husband bought it before I could even finish reading the reviews! We were very anxious to find out what I was pregnant with. I was super skeptical. Because it had lots of mixed reviews. But as I said my husband bought it before I had a chance to even say anything! So we waited dand waited for the test ... My wounderful mail man was on vacation so the sub put our test in someone else's box!!! I waited and waited and waited long story short the mail man didn't care and apparently isn't responsible for the mistake and I had to hope and pray that whoever got my package would kindly return it! Thank heavens, a very kind woman came to my front door and had my package!!!!! I was so excited!!!! I hugged this Stang woman and explained how we had 4 girls and had put so much effort into trying to conceive a boy and were very anxious to have our first boy and how the mail man lost our package and didn't care... ( Let's just say I'm an emotional pregnant woman). All in all she was very kind to bring me my tiny little maricle in a box! Funny story she is now my realtor!! Haha. Anyway I opened the box and it was very very specific about a man not being in the room and to clean the area very well. Do not do in the bathroom. It was very nerve racking taking the text I was so scared to have screwed this up!! So I sent the test off before my husband even got home from work. We waited and waited for the results. Which seemed like a life time. It took about a week to get the results. It was Saturday the day before Easter , and our results were we were having a BOY!!!! I couldn't believe it!! I cried !! Baby #5 was finally a boy!!! It was very fun and exciting to tell our family. A few of our family members were skeptical but months later we had an ultrasound and it was confirmed we saw the penis!!! I cried again lol the test was totally right!!! I had my concerns but it was 100% accurate!! I would totally recommend this test to anyone who questions the gender of their baby :)

Follow all instructions thoroughly.
Unbelievably easy to use. I see a lot of people complaining of wrong results. You have to be as sterile as possible when obtaining your sample! I have a husband and a son. Male dna is obviously everywhere. I wiped my counters down and the sink I was using with chlorox bleach spray and then my Mrs Meyers cleaner. I then followed the instructions just as stated. As for blood collecting, it’s a capillary puncture. If you have bad circulation. WARM YOUR HANDS. Also. When “milking” the blood out. You have to pause to let the blood fill back to your finger tips. I’m not even sure why I would have to explain that. Also use the lancet as it states. If you cut yourself the same directions of your finger swirls, the blood just runs into the swirls. If you make like a target, the blood pools into the big drop you’re looking for which means less of a mess. Seems common knowledge but obviously not. It took maybe 6 drops of blood and I have cold hands and bad circulation so it can be done with one poke. Just prep for it. The warm hands with warm water, swinging your arm, tourniquet, and letting your hand refill up and you’ll be fine. I did the test on a Monday, brought it to the post office that day and had the results Thursday. I do agree with some previous people. The second you open the email you see the results. No logging in and it went to my junk mail. So to move it so it didn’t get buried I had to open it which kinda sucked because my husband and I were going to open it regardless. Based on our result girl I assume this is 99.9% accurate as of today. Based on the testing of Y chromosomes and they found none. Had it been a boy result I would be more Leary because you could accidentally if not careful get male dna from your spouse of kids but with the girl result we have started buying girl things. Our anatomy scan is next month so if this is wrong I will definitely update! But we doubt it. Blood tests are known to be more accurate than anatomy scans.

Cool test, but could be less error-prone.
This is a great test, but it has one huge flaw. It requires regular people, with no medical or microbiological training, to collect a sterile sample of their own blood. One flake of dust w/ your male partner's DNA (or your male dog's DNA) and you'll get a "boy" result, regardless of the sex of your future kid. Their website says they can't control for contamination and that contamination with male DNA will result in a false positive -- meaning false "boy." However, they absolutely COULD control for contamination and could detect possible contamination by testing not only the sample vial, but by testing the interior of the packaging any time a "boy" result is obtained. If the result is "girl" there's no chance that the sample was contaminated, so there would be no extra work on their part. If they get a "boy" result from the vial, they could swab the inside of the kit and run that swab looking for a Y chromosome. If they get a positive result, then the kit was most likely contaminated and the "boy" result should not be trusted. They should return a "contaminated" result to the customer with a reminder about preventing contamination. If there is no male DNA dusting inside the package (only in the vial), it is very unlikely that the sample was contaminated and the "boy" result can probably be trusted. This extra PCR would only need to be run on a little over half the samples (true "boy" and contaminated "boy"), so it wouldn't double their testing costs and it wouldn't affect shipping or packaging costs at all. With the increased accuracy, their reviews would increase, so they'd probably sell more kits and any time they return a "contaminated" result they may end up selling another kit as well -- much better than sending a "boy" result and having an angry customer bashing you to their friends and on Amazon when they get the ultrasound and see that its really a girl. The increased accuracy and the opportunity to sell an extra kit to people who contaminated their samples should offset the cost of running the extra PCR somewhat and if the test was less error-prone, they could raise their price slightly and I think most of us would prefer that. Our first kid was a boy and we got a "boy" result and we're waiting on the results of our second kit for our second pregnancy.
