Great little camcorder. Superior to cheap off brand units for $60 range w/no mechanical zoom.
I originally bought one of those cheap little $60 camcorders from Amazon that claimed to be high resolution with a digital zoom. I knew better, but the specs looked good and the reviews were ok. Once I tried it, it was junk. My cell phone would take better pics. I sent it back and bought this one as a referb unit for $97.This Sony is incredible and my referb unit looks to be new. It has a wide angle lens and can zoom in on things that the human eye can't even tell are there. The clarity and pic quality is incredible too. Look on YouTube for this camcorder with it's video quality and zoom capability and you'll see what i mean. While it is not mentioned a lot, it also has the ability to take pics in very low light. If you don't like the auto settings, most everything can be adjusted manually as well. I played with the setting, but couldn't improve upon the auto selection for quality. In a nut shell, if you are taking pics with your cell phone, put it back in your pocket or use to order one of these units. This camcorder is small, lightweight, takes still pics, and videos way beyond what your $1000 cell phone is capable of. But then again, that is what this is designed to do and it is does a damn good job!

Decent for price, good Camcorder
For the price, decent camera.1) Motion stabilization is not perfect but as get used to, and watch at computer screen size screen, maybe fine.2) Lack some functions ; wifi connection ... not present. But fine for the price3) Image quality : To show picture quality comparable to the Galaxy S22 cell phone, the highest quality image is best (no still image available at this highest picture quality). To watch recorded video with cell phone or computer screen, high quality setting seems enough. With highest quality setting, recording to sd card lag or error occured. Not sure due to quality of micro SD card yet. With "high" quality setting, resolved.4) Battery life is kind of short - I ordered extra batteries from other store, 3 batteries but very cheap. Thus, battery life is not a matter for me.

It is easy to use and easy to carry
This came in intact original packaging and performed flawlessly on our big trip to Greece and Rome. It is easy to use and easy to carry. Battery life is good but the off brand extra batteries (at a fraction the price) I got to go with it are even better. I found out early that using the zoom a lot eats up the battery in a hurry. I'm not sure yet how good the image quality is because I've only looked at the stills I took on my iPhone; the video review is my project for the winter. I have to admit that my first glimpses of the videos were not encouraging; the color didn't look as good as my iPhone images, but I'll reserve judgement until I've viewed them properly.

Semi-safe camcorder for a pinch
I'm quite pleased with the quality of the video, but as usual the still image quality leaves a lot to be desired. The battery life is great, giving around an hour and a half of solid sound and HD1080p recording. When it comes to storage, you're going to want to get at the very least a 16gb card, which will hold just over two hours of footage and sound at maximum quality. Good camera for a pinch, however, there is one caveat in this specific instance:****POSSIBLE SOFTWARE GLITCHES****Twice I have turned the camcorder on and had images from earlier in the day impose onto the screen, rendering the camera useless until I pulled the battery. Once this happened when changing settings between shots and I lost part of my footage. Don't depend on it for important moments, but for a backpack camera, it's perfect.

Durable reliable and affordable
While this camera is nothing special I give it 5 stars for being a reliable DV camera. The picture quality is fine. Low light is not good but you shouldn’t really be shooting in low light. I also don’t rely on zoom either. The most important thing to know is that I bought this as a gift for my 8 year old son after the cheap one we got him never even worked. It has been dropped and left open on the floor and still functions perfectly fine. Durability and reliability in electronic equipment cannot be understated.

Got the factory refurbished and it was just like brand new
Got the factory refurbished and it was just like brand new. Packaged well and in excellent condition and a fraction of the cost for a new one! The camera is great! Works wonderful in areas with poor lighting. I use it for dog agility trials which are held in barns many times and I also use it for kids sports including swimming which pool areas having poor lighting. Does great and is very easy to use. Good zoom. I do want to point out that I believe there is misinformation in the description that says it is Wi-Fi. It is not Wi-Fi but is easily uploaded to YouTube or to your PC.

Simple and easy, but look for a better deal on ebay first
It's a great camera and very simple to use. However the one that I got has part of the plastic shell and the chrome ring on the front broken off and it almost came apart. I understand that it was renewed but it makes me worry it will break easier.

MASSIVE LONG VIDEO PROBLEMS :(
my immediate reaction was that is was way too light. but the first three videos i ever made on it came out okay, granted that they were 30 sec-10 minute long. Then, things just got worse. i bought this camera to record a video for teaching certification for EdTpa... sadly, two of my wonderful lessons were "recorded" but i cant retrieve them. the file exists but theres nothing inside it. camera's easy to use...but i hate it now that i cant find get to my precious videos... in making things lightweight, i think the severely compromised the quality of the camera... back to the drawing board for me to find a better camera that uses a proper sd card, rather than a micro sd. returned it via amazon, amazon never disappoints though.
