"Wonderfully useful for everyone interested in health." --Elson Haas, M.D., author of Staying Healthy with Nutrition Review: Home remedies endure because they work. - I bought this book initially on my e-reader, and within the first 45 pages, I was convinced that I needed to not only get more vinegar into my diet, but also get a hard copy of this book so I could lend it to my mom and friends. I bought it together with Ms. Orey's books on honey and olive oil and am greatly looking forward to reading both and trying the recipes included. (I haven't tried them yet as cooking while reading a recipe off a tablet is a royal pain the you-know-where!) What I like about this book is that while Ms. Orey makes a strong case for the benefits of vinegar, she doesn't make any claim to it being a be-all end-all miracle cure for any ailment. She comes across as excited and fascinated about the research and wisdom she has presented, and personally, I felt myself getting just as excited. Unlike some health books I've read, I never got the sense I was being told that if I didn't religiously consume this product, I was going to die. ;) That being said though, before getting even a third of the way through the book, I actually went out and bought some apple cider vinegar and have been using it since. Being thirty years old, morbidly obese since I was a child, and a recovering alcoholic, I'm constantly bombarded with health advice and advertisements for health fads of every kind. "Recently discovered miracle cure!" seems to be the catchphrase of the day. Shedding pounds, trimming inches, and getting "healthy" with these "natural" products is the promise of companies preying on the desperate. But health fads are just that. And home remedies and traditional medicines quietly endure because of one simple reason. They work. Granted, some have been proven to be sheer fantasy (powdered rhino horn, I'm looking at you), but for the most part, we always come back to them. Vinegar is one of these and Ms. Orey's enthusiasm infects the reader with curiousity. Definitely a must-read for health nuts/home remedy lovers/diy-ers and just about anyone at all. Review: Five Stars - A book that should be a staple in every home. You can learn so much beyond the bottle of white vinegar. It is a natural health and healing agent that does more than you can imagine. The book has many ideas for the use of Apple Cider Vinegar. There is lots of information on the use of many other vinegars, recipes that sound delicious and all of it is easy to do. Your family and friends will be impressed with your knowledge and I even impressed some hard-headed people to at least read the book. Any book that you can get that helps so that you may not need chemical drugs is a blessing. By the way, don't read the book once and put it on the bookcase - read it over and over - you will learn so many new things each time.

Good Resource
I like the direct, friendly approach of the an author who is experiementing and experiencing this topic as she goes. While anedotal information has its limits, there is some other support for the assertions in this book for skepics. I think ACV has a long history of uncanny success in healing sunburns on up to more profound problems with consistant success. It clearly does not always work for everyone, but ACV is useful in weight loss, energy revival, digestive aid, skin ailments, oral maladies, and other diseases. Most importantly, it is clearly preventive medicine as is cannabis, hydrogen peroxide, assorted weeds, herbal teas, many fruits and veggies, probiotics and prayer/ meditation. Yoga, breathing, bathing, Tai Chi, isometircs, and other inexpensive activities coupled with the mindful diet and supplements, including vinegar, are much wiser ways to approach wellness in an insane culture where pharmacueticals are doled out capriciously by doctors who don't have time to give a damn when they pull shifts as an hmo croaker and do hospital bed checks on strangers. Only way to be well is to read books like this and address what ails you on your own terms.

I was also amazed to learn that vinegar in its many forms has ...
I was looking for information about vinegar and found an extensive amount in this book which has been really helpful. I also bought a copy for my son since vinegar can be used to help various health issues. I was also amazed to learn that vinegar in its many forms has been used for thousands of years and is still being used today. Obviously it has an extremely long history! The book also has information about vinegar's cleaning abilities which makes it an invaluable product to have around the house. The author even included quite a number of recipes using vinegar that will appeal to the taste buds, he also added lots of resources. Finally I think to say this book is very comprehensive is putting it mildly! The book is well written and packed with information so it's well worth the read.

Vinegar...the safest thing to have in the house for Everything!
Well vinegar...old wives tales still stand...great for cleaning glass...killing weeds, repelling ants, this book is THE Bible on vinegar...lots of surprises, good reference...and SAFE...so many cleaners are cancer causing...we breathe them in and unpleasant effects...residue of them harms our families and our pets...this will not! So inexpensive as to be ridiculous. Note: big difference between white and apple cider vinegars...apple cider vinegar is a tonic..will STOP acid reflux...only one to ingest and it is Bragg's .I use white for anything other than ingesting. This book can restore your health and the health of your household...clear out the chemicals!

Excellent book - fascinating facts and filled with valuable, helpful information on best uses for vinegar
I feel learning about the power of foods Is important to one's health and when I saw Cal Orey's Vinegar book, I wanted to add on to my collection of her Healing Powers series (I have the honey and olive oil). I was already aware that vinegar is an excellent aid for digestion, but had no idea of its amazing versatility. From its history, to health properties, cooking and even cleaning uses, Ms. Orey covers it completely, including many creative uses to integrate daily into menu planning. Excellent writing, filled with fascinating facts, and an excellent book for those genuinely interested in natural health.

Amazon's Vinegar IQ
Hum ha. Just hum ha. The book has a lot of information but frankly, googling would have provided most of it -- and for free. Okay if you want some clutter on your bookshelves. Otherwise, pass it by.

great remedies of vinegar
The beauty tips in the this book alone are great. The facial wash is wonderful, my face always feels so fresh and clean with no residue that ordinary face cleaners leave behind. Plus it's great to get rid of blemishes(pimples). Apple cider vinegar in a bath is also refreshing. Apple cider vinegar mixed with a little water is also great for getting rid of hiccups if you don't have any dill pickle juice on hand. I wouldn't be without this book.
