Prior to these basting brushes I had to search for natural boar's bristle paint brushes for basting. While they worked well they weren't easy to clean and the metal collars tended to rust. You also had to be very careful not to get them near an open flame as they were easily melted or burned.These brushes are easy to clean, hold up to high temperatures, are dish washer safe and do a great job basting.I highly recommend them for everyone's kitchen or barbeque grill.

These are easy to use and easy to clean. Much better and more sanitary than brushes with bristles. I washed them in the dishwasher. Good value for the money. It was easy to spread bbq sauce on meat. I like the 2 different sizes.

UPDATE: Without any request the seller quickly sent me a completely new set of these brushes after I left 3 stars. What great customer service! The new brushes appear slightly different from the first set- the color is different and the ends of the handles that the brushes fit on have much larger ridges for the brushes to stick to. I've used them a few times since receiving the new set and these are MUCH better quality. The smaller brush still wants to wiggle off if I'm tapping it on the short side or pushing it around the bottom to get the last dredges of whatever I'm cooking with. But it won't just fall off, it just slides down about halfway and I can see it, so I just change the brush direction, push it back up, or use the bigger brush. So far, no issues with the bigger one. I bumped this up a star because of the fabulous CS the seller exhibited and because the brushes work as I would expect. Still not quite a 5 star product but I'd be willing to gamble on it since the seller clearly stands behind their products. They work okay for simple basting but both brushes have a fatal flaw: the ends come off. Easily. If you press the bristle end against something, say the side of a measuring cup, and press from the side even a little the whole end pops off. I was basting with molten herbed butter last night and tried both brushes. Both fell apart into the butter. Both made unusable due to the end being filled with butter and from then on just sliding off. This was really annoying and wasted several minutes before I gave up and used a spoon.This feature is nice, perhaps, when it comes to cleaning. My issue with conventional brushes has been the tendency for the bristles to harbor mold or residue of various materials. I hate using anything but soap and water to clean that style so these silicone ones are a nice break from that nonsense.However... if I can't use the dang things because they're floating in buttery lava I do not care how easy they're going to be to clean later. I'm considering whether or not to drill a hole where the two pieces meet and making a peg that holds it in place until I'm ready for it to be free. Just not sure it's worth the effort. As is I would not recommend these.

I bought one for myself years ago. My Grandson loves to cook. He mentioned he liked this the last time he visited and cooked. So I bought it for him. They work well and clean up easily.

Purchased when it was suggested by an article I read. Disappointed when they arrived since there was an overwhelming chemical smell. I hoped it would "wash" away and/or "air out" after a day or so. Still waiting. Don't feel that I want to use it for food due to this. Cannot recommend.

These are very good quality brushes. I needed to replace my old hairy version of oiling brush and was not keen on buying another like it.These were excellent for the price and serve the purpose well. I use the smaller one for oiling cake tins and my husband uses the larger ones for barbecue. They have worked perfectly and wash just fine in the dishwasher!!
