Help With The Challenge Of Drawing Hands And Feet
Internationally known artist and teacher Ken Goldman's book "Success in Art: Drawing Hands & Feet. Techniques for mastering realistic hands and feet in graphite, charcoal, and Conte - 50+ Professional Artist Tips and Techniques" is part of the "Success in Art" series published by Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster that has the goal to offer more than basic step-by-step guides for subject matters that are challenging for artists. The book is divided into four main sections: 1) Tools & Materials, 2) Anatomy of Hands & Feet, 3) Drawing Techniques, and 4) Step-by-Step Drawings. In basing the book on the anatomy of bones, muscles and tendons of hands and feet Goldman helps artists to learn the needed details for their drawings. The book includes more than fifty professional artist tips and techniques, e.g. "Things to Remember When Drawing", a segment about Perspective which is very important, and one segment about "Working from Photographs" with various approaches. This can help artists to find the method that is best for them. The book contains very detailed pictures, drawings, and photographs. It is a help for beginning and advanced artists and makes also a great present for them. Although the book is aimed at artists who use pencils, charcoal, and chalk as medium, and I highly recommend it for them, it can be used also by artists who use other mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, or mix-media. They also can profit from this book. The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.#SuccessInArtDrawingHandsFeet #NetGalley

Terrific art how-to book!
Success in Art: Drawing Hands & Feet: Techniques for mastering realistic hands and feet in graphite, charcoal, and Conteby Walter Foster Creative Team is a book I and from NetGalley and the review is voluntary. I really learned a lot from this book! I love trying my hand at graphite and charcoal and this was excellent! It covers light/dark, shading, perspective (which I have a very difficult time with), and all with realistic techniques. This has a lot of information crammed into a small book! This is one I am going to buy for sure! I need to quit reviewing to save myself money! 😊

Really helpful book
Many of us have problems drawing hand and feet, the the extent that some of us try to leave them out all together or only partially draw them in. This book is very helpful in helping to understand both the hands and feet, starting with a skeleton view to muscular actions, whilst also covers perspective. There are a series of exercises to do to get some practice in various poses to draw. A really informative book

Unfortunately, this book misses the mark.
Unfortunately, this book is not worth the money. While it is apparent that the author is an excellent artist, especially when it comes to anatomy. However, I do not believe this talent extends to instruction. Only a small portion of the book examines how to draw hands and feet. Too much of it is delegated to anatomy itself. I wanted to learn to draw the skin, muscles and joints. I was very disappointed.I received an ARC from Quatro Publishing through NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review and am under no obligation to do so.
