Updated 11/18: this has survived the microwave and the dishwasher. I love my mug.This mug is beautiful! It arrived undamaged, despite the fact that the UPS man threw it over my 6' fence. Luckily it was wrapped in a lot of bubble wrap. Yay!Even though i love the design and the look, I am giving it 3 stars because the mug isn't labeled. It does not read "dishwasher or microwave" safe on the bottom. It only has a sticker with "Cactus Coatings© Made in China". I can't find any information on the web about the toxicity of Cactus coating. I assume it's safe, but other mugs on Amazon have lead, so I'd feel much better if there was information on it. So I've deducted 2 stars for lack of product information, and the fact that i may not be able to use it for its intended purpose.Back to the mug: it's shiny and beautiful! It's glazed earthenware, beautifully done. (Reminds me of a shiny glazed plant pot. I guess I can always put a plant in it).The mug is a perfect normal-sized mug. (11 oz) It's not small at all. It's the same size as all my other mugs. I read a review that it was small. Not true. But the mug is not absurdly large like the trendy mugs of today.I love my mug! I just really hope I can drink out of it!

Or, should I say that it *WAS* my favorite mug. Unfortunately, there was a mishap. My mother was attempting to help me clean my table and it fell on the floor, breaking like my heart as I watched the pieces skitter across the floor like mice. I came here, initially, to get another one, but I see that it is now unavailable. That just makes the heartbreak worse. That was the perfect size and the perfect mug. Now, it's gone.

When i was in college (yes, 25 years ago), i found a mug of my favorite far side cartoon - the real reason dinosaurs became extinct (cigarettes). It was my favorite mug for . . .well . . decades! I FINALLY broke it, about 3 years ago, and began looking for a new favorite. I finally gave in and ordered something from another website (where you can get custom printed stuff). I didnt love it - and it broke the second week I had it!Then i find the exploding tardis cup . . . ahhh. I had been a big fan of Tom Baker back in the day, and had knee surgery recently. I was so frustrated at being incapacitated that i set myself a goal of watching every single Dr Who episode available streaming on netflix. Lo and behold, a fan girl was reborn . . . or, fan old-lady anyways.This mug is sturdy and lovely and makes me happy. The insert says not to put in the dishwasher to protect the artwork, but i've had it 2 months and it seems no worse for the daily machine washing. Now I want more Dr Who paraphernalia!

It's an exploding Tardis mug, so of course it's awesome, but I couldn't be sure if it was actually bigger on the inside or not. It's hard to tell. I attempted several tests with water to estimate whether the volume that fit inside was greater than what would appear to fit based on the outer dimensions, but of course I could only do those tests in the one 3-D dimension that I live in, so without the adequate technology to test it throughout the space-time continuum and with the idiosyncrasies of the timey-wimey travel, I just have to trust that it really is bigger on the inside and that I'm consuming a little more coffee than I would if I used some other more ordinary mug that was restricted to one space in one time.

This was a requested from a youg girl living in an orphanage that we support. She was excited!

It was a gift for my friend. She loved it. But it didn't last more than a day. It fell and much like the painting on it, exploded into pieces. I gave it 4 stars because she has a very hard tile floor so it might have been more the floor than the mug, but still, I would have liked it to last better.

My granddaughter loves this mug. Art work is excellent

Tardis explosion's blast radius is not bounded in space or time. It seems the ripples from the explosion have reached my cup. As proof, the cup I received had a small crack near the handle!Also, there are no microwave safe symbols on the cup. But, come on, can't the cup that got only a small crack from Tardis' explosion, which BTW is much more powerful than a gamma ray burst, withstand mere microwaves?Concluding remarks: Check the cup for cracks before you throw out the boxes and start using it.

Cup is big and looks great even after several times in the dish washer.

Very small cup. You'll drink all your tea before it goes cold but you'll need a second cup.
